Launched in 2015, OnePlus 2 was one of the popular devices from the OnePlus portfolio, even though it didn’t take off well among the customers. Post few months after the launch, OnePlus announced the second-generation device won’t be receiving an update to Android Nougat after all. Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The update for this month doesn’t include functional improvements, and only brings security fixes.
Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched the F1 last year in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs. 19,999 after recent price cut. This device runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI on top with POCO launcher out of the box. In this regard, MIUI is a heavy skin on top of Android skin that offers various customisations but brings a good amount of bloat as well. When Apple announced support for Dual SIM functionality on the iPhone XS and XS Max, a lot of readers were asking if they would have more than one eSIM on a device. Turns out, you can have save several eSIMs to the iPhone XS and activate any one SIM at anytime. This is such an awesome feature which is only available on the iPhone XS at this point. On a recent trip, I managed to activate several eSIMs on my iPhone XS Max and it worked like a charm. I managed to also try a couple of eSIM based data roaming providers Gigsky and Truphone. It’s almost an year since Xiaomi launched its first set of Mi TVs in India and one can say they’ve had a good run, if not great. While there was only one 4K Mi TV at launch, the rest of 2018 saw Mi TVs hitting different price points with full HD and HD ready panels starting at a really low price of Rs. 14,999. This definitely helped push more sales but the flagship Mi TV, which launched at Rs. 39,999, a stunning price at that time, became Rs. 49,999 when it got upgraded to the Mi TV Pro.
