Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was amongst best-selling devices in 2018, launched with Android Nougat, it received Android 8.1 (Oreo) update in June 2018. The company rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) update to the smartphone back in May 2019, the device is almost 2 years old now and has already received two Android updates. It is almost certain that Xiaomi will not update the Android version on the Redmi Note 5 Pro, but in case you own a Redmi Note 5 Pro and wish to keep your device updated with the latest Android version, you may try a custom ROM. realme launched the realme 3 Pro in the country back in April 2019 running ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 (Pie). realme announced Android 10 update roadmap for its devices back in September, but it didn’t mention anything about the older devices like realme C1, realme 2, realme U1. In the recent episode of #AskMadhav, the company’s CEO, Madhav Sheth said that the company will roll-out one Android update to all the smartphones, but didn’t mention anything about the premium series of devices such as realme X2 Pro.

In a world where smartphone manufacturers like OnePlus, Nokia, etc. have already pushed out Android 10 software updates to their devices, we still have companies like LG that are extremely slow with theirs. LG have only now announced their roadmap for Android 10 updates in 9 smartphones, with some phones only getting it in Q4 of 2020.
