Nokia 8 Sirocco Android 10 update starts rolling out


HMD Global has started rolling out Android 10 update for the Nokia 8 Sirocco smartphone, which makes it the 11th Nokia phone to get the update after the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 PureViewNokia 7.1Nokia 6.1 PlusNokia 7 PlusNokia 6.1Nokia 2.2, Nokia 7.2, Nokia 3.2, and Nokia 4.2. It was launched back in 2018 running Android Oreo. Android 10 brings a number of additional privacy and security features for users, as well as Dark Theme, Focus mode, dedicated ‘Privacy section’, and lots more.

The update weighs 1.38GB in size, carries the version number V5.120 and also brings the April 2020 Security Patch alongside new Android 10 features.

It is being rolled out in batches in several counties including Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Iraq, Iran, Jordan,  Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Macau, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia,  Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, and Ukraine.

The company says that 10% of users in the above regions will receive the update today, 50% of users will receive it by April 18th, and full rollout in these regions will be completed by April 20th, 2020. The batch 2 roll out is expected to be started soon as well.
