Xiaomi posts 52.6% YoY increase in revenue in FY 2018, smartphone revenue up 41.3% YoY

Xiaomi has reported its earning for the fourth quarter (Q4 2018) and the whole financial year of 2018 that ended December 31, 2018. It reported revenue of 174.9 billion yuan (US$ 26.05 billion) for FY 2018, an increase of 52.6% compared to FY 2017, among which international revenue grew 118.1% year-on-year to 70.0 billion yuan, accounting for 40% of its total revenue. Net profit for year 2018 was approximately 13.478 billion yuan. Xiaomi Redmi Go Android Go Edition smartphone with 5-inch HD display launched in India for Rs. 4499

Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Go, the company’s first Android Go Edition smartphone in India, as it had promised. It was announced earlier this year and packs a 5-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 425 SoC with 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE with dedicated SIM slots and a 3000mAh battery.

Xiaomi launches Mi Pay mobile payment solution in India

Xiaomi has officially launched Mi Pay, the company’s latest mobile payment solution in India, after it was introduced back in December last year. Mi Pay is supported by ICICI Bank, has a basic UI and it requires Phone, Contacts and SMS permissions to run. Users have an option to transfer money to UPI address and Bank Account directly.

It has a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR support, 240Hz touch response rate with touch algorithm optimization especially for gaming, is powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC with up to 12GB RAM, liquid cooling 3.0 that Tower-wide global liquid cooling system that uses liquid-cooled plate + liquid-cooled tube that can effectively cover all the heat-generating components to reduce the CPU’s core temperature by up to 14° C, compared to 12° C in the predecessor. Xiaomi Redmi 7 with 6.26-inch 19:9 display, Snapdragon 632, AI dual rear cameras, 4000mAh battery announced

Along with the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi 7 smartphone in China, as it had promised. It has a 6.26-inch HD+ waterdrop notch display, is powered by Snapdragon 632 SoC with up to 4GB of RAM, runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10, features a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera for capturing depth information in portrait shots. It also has an 8-megapixel camera on the front.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro with 6.3-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 675, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage announced in China

Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note 7 Pro for the Chinese market, as it had promised. It comes in 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version for China, costs 1599 yuan (US$ 238 / Rs. 16,350 approx.) compared to Rs. 16,999 in India. It will go on sale in China starting March 22nd. Other specifications are similar to the Redmi Note 7 Pro version that was launched in India last month.

Xiaomi Mi LED TV 4A Pro 49-inch gets another price cut in India

Xiaomi has announced a price cut of Rs. 1000 for its 4A PRO 49-inch Full HD Android TV in India. It was launched at a price of Rs. 31,999, and got a Rs. 1000 price cut earlier this January, due to dollar moderation. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 in India last month starting Rs 9,999, powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 64-bit 14nm mobile platform based on FinFET technology with Adreno 512 GPU that has support for Open GL ES 3.2, Open CL 2.0, Vulkan graphics and Hexagon 680 DSP that includes Hexagon Vector extensions (HVX), designed to support Caffe2 and Tensorflow for machine learning and image processing using the Snapdragon Neural Processing Engine SDK. Xiaomi Redmi Go Android Go Edition smartphone launching in India on March 19

Xiaomi today announced that it will launch the Redmi Go, the company’s first Android Go Edition smartphone in India on March 19th. Flipkart has also started teasing the phone. It was announced earlier this year and packs a 5-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 425 SoC with 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE with dedicated SIM slots and a 3000mAh battery.
