Xiaomi migrates Indian users’ data to local cloud infrastructure

Xiaomi today announced that it is migrating its Indian data to cloud service providers with infrastructure in India. This cover all Indian user data across Xiaomi e-commerce platform (mi.com/in), Mi Community (in.c.mi.com), Mi Cloud, MIUI (Xiaomi Market, feed, Mi Video, advertising, Mi Messaging, push notifications, etc) and Mi TV. Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 with bezel-less display, slide-out design to be announced in October

After the Honor event, in which the company announced the Magic 2 with a full-screen display with ultra narrow bezels and a slide-out design, Xiaomi Co-founder and President Lin Bin posted a photo of the smartphone and said that it will be introduced in October. This will likely be the Mi MIX 3, successor of the Mi Mix 2S, which was introduced  earlier this year.

Xiaomi Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi 6A launching in India on September 5

Xiaomi has posted a teaser confirming the launch of three new smartphones in the Redmi 6 series – Redmi 6Redmi 6A  and the Redmi 6 Pro. The company already confirmed that it will not launch the Mi A2 Lite in India, so it will be launching the Redmi 6 Pro instead. The event is set for September 5th.

POCO F1 first sale generated over Rs. 200 crore in less than 5 minutes

Xiaomi Mi TV sales cross 500,000 units in India in over 6 months of launch

Xiaomi India today announced that it has sold more than 500,000 or 5 lakh units of Mi LED TVs in about six months of launch back in February. This includes Mi LED TV 4 55″, Mi LED TV 4A 32″ and Mi LED TV 4A 43″ sold across mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home stores. The company said that it has become one of the fastest growing smart TV brands in India

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched the POCO F1 running on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with a skin on top, which company is referring to as MIUI For POCO. Xiaomi reports 68.3% increase in revenue in Q2 2018, smartphone revenue up 58.7% YoY

Xiaomi today reported its earning  for the second quarter (Q2 2018) and first half of 2018 (H1 2018) ended June 30, 2018. It reported revenue of 45.24 billion yuan (US$6.60 billion), an increase of 68.3% year-on-year, among which international revenue grew 151.7% year-on-year to 16.4 billion yuan, accounting for 36.3 percent of total revenue. Operating (loss) was 7.5 million yuan compared to 3.6 million the same quarter last year. Adjusted profit grew 25.1% to 2.1 billion yuan year-on-year. All business
segments achieved strong revenue growth, with the fastest growth seen in our IoT and lifestyle products segment, said Xiaomi.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Beta testing to start soon as the company opens registrations

Xiaomi launched the second-generation Android One device – Mi A2 in India earlier this month. At the event, Xiaomi and Google promised Android version updates along with monthly security patch updates as the device was launched under the Android One program. POCO F1 Hands On and First Impressions

It’s safe to say that Xiaomi can be credited for kickstarting the whole affordable flagship trend with the launch of the Mi3 way back in 2014. There’s been ample competition since then with OnePlus standing out in particular as a success story. Enter POCO, an entire new sub-brand building on the strengths of Xiaomi. The POCO F1 is the first phone under this brand and like its namesake race, this is one screaming fast phone. It runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI on top with POCO launcher, and the company has promised Android 9.0 (Pie) update in Q4 2018.
