Nokia launches PhotoBeamer image sharing app for Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices

Nokia has launched PhotoBeamer app exclusively for Lumia phones (Lumia 820 and Lumia 920) running on Windows Phone 8. This app lets you to share images from the phone easily just by pointing the device on the QR code on photobeamer.com. This uses Scalado’s technology that was first released on PhotoBeamer iPhone back in May. After Nokia acquired Scalado, the team has worked hard to bring the app to Windows Phone 8 devices. Apollo Plus update rumored to bring improved WiFi, other fixes to Windows Phone 8

Rumors have surfaced that Microsoft plans to detail its next update for Windows Phone 8 at the Mobile World Congress in February. The update is expected to bring a lot of bug fixes alongside new features. The Verge suggests that Microsoft will be bringing bug fixes related to audio issues that some  users have been facing. We’re also expecting to see persistent WiFi capabilities introduced.

Nokia 206 Hands On

Alongside the QWERTY equipped Nokia Asha 205, the Finnish phone manufacturer also announced the Nokia 206 as part of its feature phone offering.

Facebook and Nokia partner for Asha 205 with dedicated Facebook button

Nokia announced Asha 205 and 206 earlier today in India. The Asha 205 is a Dual SIM phone with a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display with QWERTY Keyboard that also has a dedicated Facebook button for one-click access to Facebook features. This would improve the user experience by brings important features including Facebook messages, photos and more. This is the first Nokia device to feature a dedicated Facebook button. Nokia Asha 205 and 206 Dual SIM phones announced


Nokia has announced 2 new Dual SIM phones, Asha 205 and 206 in India. These phones come with a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display, but the Asha 205 has A QWERTY keyboard with Island keyboard that increases readability, tactility and typing. Both these phones have Slam feature to share multimedia content like photos, music and videos with nearby friends instantly. It works on Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones without the need to pair devices, and without the recipient needing to also have Slam (iOS and Windows Phone not supported currently). Hands on with Nokia’s HERE Maps for iOS

Nokia HERE Maps for iPhone and iPad now available for download

 

Nokia announced  last week that they would launch HTML5-based HERE Maps app for Android and iOS. Now the HERE Maps is available for iPhone and iPad users.  This uses NAVTEQ mapping data and lets you explore and search places easily. It also offers live traffic view, public transport line, driving directions, voice navigation, option to save maps data for offline use and more.

Nokia 808 PureView price drops to Rs. 24,999


Nokia 808 PureView, the phone with a 41MP camera sensor has got a price cut, which is now available for Rs. 24,999.  Nokia announced the Nokia 808 PureView at MWC 2012 and it launched in India in June at an MRP of Rs. 33,899. It has a 4-inch (640 x 360 pixels) AMOLED CBD display with Gorilla Glass protection, 1.3 GHz processor and runs on Nokia Belle OS. Nokia bags No.3 spot in Brand Equity Most Trusted Brands 2012 survey


Nokia has retained its top spot in the Most Trusted Brands in the 2012 list, according to the Economic Times Brand Equity survey for 2012. The company held the No: 1 spot for 3 years in a row from 2008 to 2010, but slipped to 5th spot in 2011 survey. In this year’s survey Nokia moved up to the 3rd spot. This survey identifies brands that have won that most special attribute Economic Times has add more markets such as Patna, Indore and Vijayawada hence making the survey more geographically representative. Nokia launches Nokia Music Store operator billing on Vodafone in India


Nokia brought Nokia Store Operator billing on Vodafone and Airtel earlier this year, now the operator billing service is available for the  Nokia Music Store on Vodafone. The operator billing is available for the Music Store on the Nokia Asha phones that would let the users renew their subscriptions via their Vodafone pre-paid or post-paid account and continue to download unlimited songs and albums from the Nokia Music Store. Nokia already offers subscription purchase via credit cards and vouchers, with this Nokia Music Store becomes the first independent music store in the country to offer integrated operator billing.
