Nokia Lumia 525 announced in India, goes on sale in the first week of January 2014


Nokia has just announced the Lumia 525 in India at the 6th Annual Strategy Sharing Summit in Goa. The Lumia 525 is the successor of the most popular Lumia 520, which is the cheapest Lumia smartphone. Main upgrade is the RAM, which has been upgraded from 512MB to 1GB. It was unveiled last month and has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS display at 235 ppi, super sensitive touch for finger nail and glove use and is powered by a 1 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor. It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with 720p HD video recording, packs 1430 mAh battery. Nokia Moneypenny rumored to launch as Lumia 630 or Lumia 635

Last month evleaks revealed codenames of upcoming Nokia phones – Goldfinger, Moneypenny, Normandy, Phantom and Spinel. We had already heard that Goldfinger would be one of the first Windows Phone Blue devices with 3D Touch features. The Nokia Lumia 1520 just launched a couple of days back in India for a price of Rs. 46,999/- after launching internationally in Abu Dhabi back in October. Being the company’s first phablet sized device with a 6 inch 1080p screen, it also naturally is the first Windows Phone with a full HD resolution and quad core innards. With these specs and more, the platform finally comes to parity with Android in the mobile space, at least in the hardware department. Software too has seen small changes with an additional column, upping the information density to a higher level than before. Subway Surfers is an extremely popular endless running game, set in an urban landscape with trains and tunnels and all you have to do is, get away from a security guard and his dog. This game has been in the spotlight for the past two years for its addictive gameplay. It initially debuted on the iPhone and then eventually Android where the popularity exploded. Now this game has finally arrived for the third ecosystem – Windows Phone. The game, usually seen as a must have for some people, was one of the things I personally missed when using Windows Phone. Of course, it was not a deal breaker, because it’s just a game, but the lack of it certainly proved costly for the ecosystem, but finally it’s here. Nokia Lumia 525 launches in Singapore, price revealed

Nokia unveiled the Lumia 525, the company’s latest budget smartphone and the successor of the Lumia 520 last month. Nokia did not reveal the price of the phone last month. The Lumia 525 went on sale in Singapore last week at a price tag of SG$249  (~Rs. 12,280). The 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) display at 235 ppi, super sensitive IPS display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8. It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with 720p HD video recording. RAM has been upgraded to 1GB from 512MB. Even thought it packs the same 1430 mAh battery, the battery life has been improved. Nokia Camera Beta now available for all Lumia Phones

Nokia Camera, earlier known as the Nokia Pro Camera, is now available for all the Lumia devices such as – Lumia 520, Lumia 521, Lumia 620, Lumia 625, Lumia 720, Lumia 810, Lumia 820, and Lumia 822. Previously available only for the PureView devices like the Lumia 920/8/5, 1020 and the 1520, the full featured Nokia Camera app enabled complete control of exposure and other parameters like White Balance and focus. It was a step ahead of any other default camera app on other platforms and was the only app taking advantage of the huge 41 MP sensor on the Nokia Lumia 1020. It is now available for all the other Lumia devices, as promised, which means 95% of the Windows Phones in the market will have one of the best camera UIs around to take photos with.

The app is available in Beta and one can download it after signing up for the trial at Nokia Betalabs.

It has a 3.0-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) display and runs on the latest Nokia Asha software platform v1.1 with Swipe UI. It is the company’s first phone in the Asha series to feature a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. It features Nokia Fast lane multi-tasking screen that brings all the recent activities together. Nokia Lumia 1520 launched in India for Rs. 46999

Nokia has finally launched the Lumia 1520, the company’s latest smartphones in the Lumia series in India, as they promised last week. It was unveiled back in October and packs a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD touch screen IPS ClearBlack display with Gorilla Glass 2 protection, powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8 with the latest GDR3 with Lumia Black update. It packs a 20-megapixel autofocus rear camera with new oversampling technology, ZEISS optics with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and  dual LED flash. Nokia Lumia 1520, 1320 to launch in India on 16th December

Nokia is all set to unveil the next chapter of its Lumia story in India. The Finnish smartphone manufacturer today sent out invites for a press conference to be held in Delhi on 16th December.

If it wasn’t obvious already then the focus on BIG in the invitation makes it clear that the handsets to be launched will include the Lumia 1520 and 1320. The two phones are the first phablets to be launched by Nokia. Nokia BH-121 Bluetooth Stereo Headset with NFC announced

Nokia has finally unveiled the BH-121 Bluetooth Stereo Headset with NFC support. The Bluetooth headset was leaked as Nokia Guru, back in October and was expected launch at the Dubai event along with the Lumia 1520 and the Lumia 2520. The Bluetooth Stereo headset comes with in-ear headphones (WH-208) that connects to the headset through a 3.5mm jack and weighs just 15.7 grams.
