What’s new in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Google unveiled the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 last month with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) that also rolled out to Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 as a new incremental update to the Android 4.1. We got the update both on our Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 7 devices. Let’s see what new the Android 4.2 has to offer.

Google Nexus 7 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 310 7-inch Android Tablets Compared

Google Nexus 7 went on sale in India earlier this month for Rs. 19,999, but the price was high compared to the U.S, where the 16GB Nexus 7 is available for $199. Google Nexus 4 Unboxing

The Nexus 4 is a mobile phone collaboration between Google and LG and was launched worldwide last week. Thanks to its incredible specifications and low price point, the handset sold out within minutes, and is now one of the most sought-after pieces of mobile tech, with phones currently changing hands for twice their original purchase price on auction sites. We managed to get our hands on one, and we’re going to inflict the usual unboxing treatment on it for your viewing pleasure.

Google Nexus 4 Pictures

LG and Google unveiled the Nexus 4,new Smartphone in the Nexus family at the end of October. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 × 768 pixels) display with 320 ppi and corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The Nexus 4 is priced at $299 for the 8GB version and the 16GB version comes at a price tag of $349. It is expected to go on sale from November 13 in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia. Google Nexus 7 launching in India at Rs. 19,999


Asus announced few months back that the Nexus 7 would be available in India in November. Asus has now confirmed to us that the Nexus 7 would go sale in India from tomorrow at an MRP of Rs. 19,999. Google announced the Nexus 7, their first Android tablet with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) in June at Google I/O for $199. Google unveiled the 32GB and a 3G variants of the Nexus 7 few weeks back. Google Nexus 10 announced with 2,560 x 1,600 resolution screen

Hot on the heels of its Nexus 4 announcement and unveiling the updated Nexus 7, Google also announced its entry in the 10″ tablet segment with the Samsung manufactured Nexus 10. The tablet packs an extremely high resolution screen with the 2,560 x 1,600 pixels packed into the 10″ panel resulting in a ppi of 300. The tablet is rated at 9 hours of continuous video playback while standby time is stated as 500 hours thanks to its 9000 mAh battery.

LG and Google announce the Nexus 4

Google had canceled the New York Android event due to Hurricane Sandy but the hurricane could not stop them from officially announcing the devices.Google and LG have finally officially unveiled the next Nexus phone which is from LG this time round -Nexus 4. The handset has been leaked multiple times and was reportedly lost in in a bar. The Nexus 4 looks  very similar to the previous Nexus devices from the front but very different in the back.The Nexus 4 was jointly designed by LG and Google. Google Nexus 7 receives storage bump, 3G option

Earlier this year Google partnered with Asus to launch its first entrant in the tablet space. The 7inch tablet suitably named the Nexus 7 packed high end hardware into an Asus designed shell and ran on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Today Google bumped up storage across the spectrum while retaining the price point. A 3G option was added as well.

Google has cancelled today’s Android event due to bad weather

Google was supposed to host an event in New York City today to show off the new LG Nexus 4, the Samsung made Nexus 10, Android 4.2, and a few other cool things, but they’ve just announced that the event has been cancelled. In case you haven’t been keeping up with the news, the biggest storm America’s east coast has ever seen is set to hit several states during the next 48 hours. Over 375,000 people have already been evacuated from Manhattan, the New York Stock exchange has shut down, the public transportation has been turned off, basically the city is preparing for the worst. Nexus 10 leaks, runs Android 4.2 on a 2500 x 1600 10.1″ screen

Google is widely expected to launch a second larger tablet at its upcoming Android centric event to provide a higher end offering alongside its current Nexus 7. The Nexus 10 was today leaked by BriefMobile and as expected, runs Android 4.2 on Samsung manufactured hardware. The screen is a 10.1″ unit with a resolution of 2500×1600. This results in a ppi of 298.9 which is most definitely higher than that on the iPad’s retina display.

LG Nexus 4 pre-order page goes live early, specs confirmed

Looks like Carphone Warehouse has jumped the gun and put up the Google’s LG Nexus 4 pre-order page online, a week ahead of the Google’s Android event slated for 29th October. These specs and the image are similar to the one surfaced earlier this month and the press shot with Nexus branding that leaked yesterday. LG Nexus 4 with Nexus branding shows up

LG Mobile’s upcoming Nexus  smartphone has been doing rounds on the internet a lot. And today we have a sweet looking picture of the phone with the iconic Nexus branding on the back thanks to @evleaks. The pictures of this phone had been leaked in the past as the LG E960 but the Nexus branding was missing in those images. 32GB Nexus 7 shows up at retail, on sale starting 29th October for $249

Google has scheduled an Android focussed event for the 29th of October and details around it have already started trickling out. Alongside the expected Nexus 4, it is now almost certain that Google will introduce a 32GB variant of the Nexus 7.

Google to hold an Android event on October 29th

Google has started sending invites for an Android event on October 29th. Looks like the earlier rumors about the event were correct. Google’s  event coincides with the Microsoft’s Windows Phone event in San Francisco. There is nothing in the invite  other than the tag line The playground is open, but according to the earlier rumors, we can expect Nexus devices from LG and Sony.
