Google has finally confirmed that Android 8.0 ‘O’ will be called Oreo. It has also released final system images for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Pixel and Pixel XL that can be downloaded from Android developer website here and also started rolling out OTA update for those who have signed up for beta program. HTC earlier this week started rolling out a new update (v1.26.709.3) for its flagship U11 smartphone in Taiwan that brings support for 1080p 60fps video recording as it had promised a few days back. Google has released Android distribution numbers for the month of August. Android Nougat adoption has increased to 13.5%, up 2% over last month. Nougat 7.0 was up 1.7% to 12.3% while, Nougat 7.1 increased to 1.2% from .9%. It is possible that before next month’s distribution, we will already see the arrival of Android O. Fossil has announced two new full round touchscreen smartwatches in its Q series – Q Venture and Q Explorist. Both the smartwatches run Android Wear 2.0
Google will introduce the next generation Pixel smartphones – Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 later this year. We recently saw renders of both the phones followed by an image that showed off front and back of the Pixel 2. Now, a couple of live photos of the Pixel 2 have surfaced thanks to GSMArena.
