SHARP today announced AQUOS S2, its latest smartphone at an event in China, as it had promised. 5.5-inch (1080 x 2040 pixels) Full HD+ display with 84.95% screen-to-body ratio. It uses FFD (Free Form Display) technology to make small holes precisely in the screen for front camera and receiver. The fingerprint sensor that is present below the screen is just 3.6mm, making it the world’s narrowest fingerprint identification module. SHARP has announced that it will introduce AQUOS S2 with bezel-less screen at a global event in Beijing on August 8, which will go on sale in China on August 14. It will come with a 5.5-inch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.95%, and the company says that it will be as compact as a 5-inch phone. RED HYDROGEN ONE hands-on shows solid design, support for snap-on camera mods

RED announced the HYDROGEN ONE Android smartphone with holographic display last month. The company did not show how it would look like. Now popular Youtuber Marques Brownlee has teased prototype of the phone on his channel to show how the phone will look like. He said he saw three different prototypes – a non-working unit with the final design and dimensions, one that shows the holographic display in action, and a third is a separate camera module with its own lens and sensor.

Android O Developer Preview 4 released, final release coming soon

Google has released the final Android 8.0 O Developer Preview 4, as it had promised. This has final Android O APIs (API level 26) that was already available with the developer preview 3 along with latest bug fixes and optimizations, stable version of the Android 26.0.0 Support Library. LG Q8 with 5.2-inch Quad HD display, dual rear cameras, water-resistant body announced

LG has announced Q8, a smaller version of the V20 smartphone in Italy. It has a 5.2-inch Quad HD screen along with a 2.1 (160 x 1040 pixels) second screen. It has a 16MP rear camera with 78-degree lens along with a secondary 8MP secondary camera with 135-degree wide-angle lens. It has a slightly smaller 3000mAh battery compared to 3200mAh battery on the V20 and this is non-removable since the phone has a unibody metal design.
