Samsung files multiple patents for smartphones with full-screen display

Samsung has filed multiple smartphone patents to house the Antenna bands on the frame of both full-screen display and traditional units. The company has filed the patents at the Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service.

Though the sketches from the patent might look like the company is working on multiple design elements for the Galaxy S9, but the fact is the company is working on different ways to house the antenna in the frame. The filings are more in number than those which will ever materialize which is because the company exploring all its options.

Patent

There is nothing concrete about the S9 design elements, but it is learned that the company is working on a way to integrate the antenna and sensor into the frame, without having to introduce an iPhone X style notch on the front.

Samsung bezel-less phone patent

The Galaxy S9 and the S9+ are said to sport a  5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Infinity Display and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with a pressure-sensitive Home button. These flagships are expected to run on Android 8.0 Oreo with Galaxy Experience U.I on top.
