POCO X8 5G with 6.83″ 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, IP69K ratings, 8340mAh battery announced

POCO has introduced POCO X8, a new smartphone targeting tech enthusiasts with a focus on battery longevity, display size, and rugged build standards for the global markets.

Battery and Charging

The core focus of the POCO X8 is its 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery (13% silicon content), representing a 63.2% increase in capacity over its predecessor. POCO claims the device can exceed two days of use on a single charge and maintain at least 80% capacity after 1,600 charging cycles (approximately six years of typical use). The battery has received a 5-star Battery Performance Certification from TÜV SÜD.

Charging capabilities include:

  • 67W HyperCharge for rapid wired charging.
  • 22.5W Wired Reverse Charging, allowing the device to act as a power bank for other electronics.
Display and Design

The POCO X8 features a 6.83-inch 1.5K display utilizing a flagship-grade luminous material, capable of reaching up to 3,500 nits peak brightness (measured across 25% of the screen area). The screen incorporates TÜV Rheinland eye-care certifications for reduced visual strain.

The chassis features a flat front panel with slim bezels, geometric design elements, and a sandblasted middle frame. Screen protection is handled by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, rated to withstand drops from up to 3 meters.

Durability and Environmental Protection

The device carries multiple ingress protection certifications:

  • IP Ratings: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust, water, and high-pressure/temperature washdowns.
  • Underwater Mode: A dedicated camera mode allowing users to capture photos and videos submerged in water.
