Google selling Galaxy Nexus with new factory image on Play Store

Google has started selling the Galaxy Nexus on Google Play from this week just for $399.99, six week after its debut. This new device comes with Google wallet and a $10 credit by default. Another interesting factor is that the system image on this Galaxy Nexus is not the usual “Yakju” build, instead it’s the “Takju” image which has been used.

Google considering sharing revenue with carriers to stimulate Wallet adoption

Reports suggest that Google might be considering sharing revenues from Google Wallet with AT&T and Vodafone to help stimulate usage. The service currently only works on one network and device ie the Sprint Nexus S 4G. Sprint plans to out 10 more Wallet supported devices later this year.

Google+ for Windows Phone in the works

Google+ was launched by Google last year, now it has around 90 million people registered on it, and its apps are available on both Android and iOS, though the Android version has more set of features. Google had earlier said that they are working on Google+ application for all the major operating systems including Blackberry O.S. Now, news is that Google is working on the WIndows Phone version and it may be out pretty soon.

Google Wallet security holes affect both rooted and stock phones

Recent investigation has unveiled glaring security holes in the Google Wallet NFC payment service which lets a person gain access to the secret Wallet pin. While it was believed that only users with rooted devices were threatened by this security lapse , further investigation shows that even  stock devices are at risk.

Now face unlock with Android 4.0 in your Nexus S

Nexus S received the Android 4.0 update a few weeks back though not all the features of ICS were available in the Nexus S update and one of the feature was Face unlock and the the main reason behind that was the VGA front camera. Many of the Nexus S users were really upset about the decision taken by Google, but the developer community is always there to look out for all the consumers and now this time they have taken the official update and have embedded face unlock into it.

USPTO rejects 17 out of the 21 claims of the ‘476 patent between Oracle and Google

We all know about the patent war between Apple and all the Android manufacturers but there is another patent war going on between Oracle and Google from a long time. The United States Patents and Trademark office has given Google a great Christmas present in a final rejection of 17 of the 21 claims of the ‘476 patent, including all seven of the patent’s independent claims.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Unboxing Video

The Galaxy Nexus is world’s first phone to run on Android 4.0 which is also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. Google and Samsung unveiled the device in Hong Kong last month and the device went on sale in few markets earlier this month. The handset is priced at around 429 pounds in the UK.The box is unusually long and has the picture of the device  on the front and sides.A very simplistic design with subtle marketing material. No mention even of the specs on the outside.The unit we got was a Titanium Silver color. The device boasts of a 4.65 inch SuperAMOLED display with a 720p resolution.It is powered by a 1.2 GHz CPU and packs 16GB of inbuilt storage without an expansion slot. There is a 5MP camera on the back and a 1.3 MP front facing camera.
