Google to end Android Market support for Android 2.1 Eclair and older

Google is ending support for the Android Market app on Android 2.1 Eclair and older devices on June 30, 2017. When this change happens, users on these devices will no longer be able to access, or install other apps from, the Android Market. The Android Market was replaced by Google Play in 2012.

Android 2.1 Update starts rolling out for XPERIA X8, X10 Mini and X10Mini Pro

LG Optimus GT540 users have a reason to cheer, since LG recently announced that an Android OS update is available for the Optimus GT540 smartphone.

The upgrade will enable the following on your handset:

  • HTML5 Support in Browser
  • Microsoft Exchange Support
  • Live Wallpapers
  • Bluetooth 2.1 Support

Xperia X10 getting Android 2.1 next week?

SE Spain has confirmed that Android 2.1 for SE Xperia X10 is coming out in the 38th week, which is actually 20th to 26th September. Sony Ericsson recently announced that they will bring Android 2.1 to Xperia X10 family in Q3, and Q3 is already here, so now SE is ready to fulfill their promise. HTC Desire Z Specs Confirmed

HTC Desire Z will run on the Android 2.1 operating system which can be later upgraded to Android 2.2 OS. Other features are its 3.7 inch touchscreen display with slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

We have already seen the leaked pics of HTC Desire Z, but the confirmed specs of this device was recently posted at mobile.co.uk. HTC Desire Z will run on the Android 2.1 operating system which can be later upgraded to the Android 2.2 OS. Other features include the 3.7 inch touchscreen display with slide-out QWERTY keyboard. This handset may come with an 8 megapixel camera and HD (720p) video recording capabilities. HTC Desire Z is expected to launch on September 15. Check out the specs below.
