Xiaomi has scheduled a global online event on March 29th to introduce the new Redmi Note 11 series. This comes after the Redmi Note 11 Pro series was launched globally in January. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 11  Pro+ 5G in the Redmi Note 11 Pro series in India earlier month as the successor to last year’s Redmi Note 10 Pro series. This was announced as Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G earlier this year. Even though this retains the 120Hz AMOLED screen and the 108MP camera from the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, this adds 5G support, new Snapdragon 695 SoC, and also comes with 67W fast charging. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Unboxing and First Impressions

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G in India earlier this week as the successor to last year’s Galaxy A52s. The phone retains the 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, IP67 dust and water resistance, 64MP main camera with OIS, but it replaces the Snapdragon 778G SoC while with the new Exynos 1280 SoC, and also bumps up the 4500mAh battery to 5000mAh. Google Pixel 6a expected at Google I/O in May, roll out from July 28; Pixel Watch along with Pixel 7, 7 Pro in October

A recent report from Jon Prosser said that the Pixel 6a could get pushed to late July due to chip shortage, since it is expected to use the same Tensor GS101 chip that is present in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Counterpoint Research produced research on the worldwide premium (>$400/ Rs.30,000 approx, wholesale ASP) smartphone market sales, which increased by 24% year over year to reach their greatest level ever in 2021. According to the report, premium sector growth would outperform the 7% YoY rise in overall global smartphone sales in 2021.
