Nokia X+ and Nokia XL launched in India for Rs. 8399 and Rs. 11489

At the Nokia X launch in March, Nokia promised to launch both the Nokia XL and X+ within 60 days.  Today, Microsoft devices (previously Nokia) has launched both these smartphones in India. These were was announced at the Mobile World Congress 2014 at Barcelona in February. The Nokia X+ runs on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and looks similar to the Nokia X, but this packs 768MB of RAM, instead of 512 MB on the Nokia X. Nokia Lumia 630 with TV tuner launched in Brazil

Nokia released Lumia 630 and Lumia 630 dual sim in India earlier this month. These devices are the first one to be shipped with latest Windows 8.1.  The company has launched a special edition of the Lumia 630 smartphone in Brazil with an additional feature of built-in television receiver.

Kingston microDuo USB OTG Pendrive Review

Kingston introduced the DataTraveler microDuo, its first USB OTG Pendrive for Android smartphones in March. It went on sale in India last month and comes in 8GB to 64GB variants. Unlike the standard pen drives, this has a built-in micro USB slot to connect it to Android smartphones or tablets with USB OTG (On-The-Go) support. This would be more useful for users with smartphones that has limited memory and lacks a microSD card slot such as Moto G. Is the device worth the price? Let us find out. We got our first glimpse of the Sony Xperia Z2 a few months back at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Set against competition from the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Z2 felt like the antithesis of the Korean flagship. Where Samsung was hell bent on throwing everything at the wall in the hopes of attracting consumer attention, Sony’s flagship felt like a device where the thought was on making improvements all around. Improvements that made sense and improved the experience. Now that we’ve spent more time with the device, we’re all the more sure that Sony thought long and hard when working on the Z2. LG L35 with 3.2-inch display, dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor listed on official website

LG unveiled the L Series III devices, the L40, L70 and L90 at the MWC 2014. It also showcased the L65 and the L35 at the event, but it didn’t officially announce them. The LG L65 Dual went on sale in Russia last month, now the LG L35, an entry-level Android smartphone with 3G support is listed on the official German website. The single SIM variant of the L65 that surfaced online last month has also been listed on the website. Samsung G9098 dual-screen Android flip phone goes official in China

Samsung has made SM-G9098, their latest Android smartphone with dual displays official on their Chinese website. It got certified in China last month and packs a 3.67-inch (320 x 480 pixels) dual Super AMOLED touch screen displays, one on the front and the the other on the inside. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor (probably Snapdragon 800), has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and leather finish on the back. Sony CP-V3A portable charger launched in India for Rs. 1590

Sony launched the Sony CP-V3, a 2800 mAh portable charger in India last year. Today, it has launched the CP-V3A, an upgraded version of the portable charger with a capacity of 3000 mAh. Other features are similar to the CP-V3, including high output of 1.5A for a fast recharge. The CP-V3 was released in five colors, this comes in six colors. Facebook reportedly developing video chat tool Slingshot to compete with Snapchat

Facebook is planning to take on popular ephemeral messaging app Snapchat by developing its own video and photo messaging app. According to the Financial Times, the social network is calling the app Slingshot that will let user share videos and photos that are self destructing.

Xiaomi Mi 3 launched in Malaysia, Redmi 1S coming in June

Xiaomi started its operations in Singapore recently and announced that it would expand to 10 more countries this year, including India. Today, at an event Xiaomi’s CEO Lin Bin and Hugo Barra launched the Mi 3 in Malaysia. Airtel launches 4G LTE services including 4G on mobile in Ludhiana

Airtel has launched 4G services in Ludhiana, Punjab. Airtel launched its 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab and Haryana last March and rolled out voice services on 4G in these three cities earlier this month. In Ludhiana, Airtel customers can access 4G on dongles, Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers) and mobile phones. Airtel also offers 4G LTE services in KolkataBengaluru and Pune and 4G on mobile in Bengaluru.

Google acquires Word Lens creator Quest Visual to boost Translate

In an effort to enhance its Google Translate service, Google has acquired Quest Visual for an undisclosed sum.  Founded by former video game developer Otavio Good in 2009, the company is the maker of the popular translation app Word Lens.
