Micromax has launched Canvas Laptab, its latest Windows 8.1 2-in-1 with inbuilt 3G SIM support. The company introduced a dual boot tab last year at the CES, which did not launch. This has a similar design, but it runs only on Windows 8.1 and has better specifications. It has a 10.1-inch (1280×800 pixels) IPS screen, is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor, has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with Office 365 subscription and also has a keyboard that has a touchpad so that it can double up as a laptop. Micromax has partnered with Amazon India to sell the Laptab. Sony Mobile sales up 11% YoY, 39.1 million smartphones shipped in FY14
Sony Corporation has reported its revenues for fourth quarter of the financial year 2014 and the full year that ended March 31, 2015. Sales increased to 1,937.7 billion yen ( US$ 16,148 million), an increase of 3.6% in Q4 14 compared to the same quarter last year. Sales for the whole financial year 2014 increased 5.8% to 8,215.9 billion yen ( US$ 68,466 million). It shipped 7.9 million smartphones in the quarter and 39.1 million smartphones in the financial year of 2014.
