Lenovo has taken a significant stride in its commitment to India with the launch of its Shared Support Center in Bengaluru. This facility is equipped with a Network Operating Centre (NOC) and Security Operation Centre (SOC), is set to provide Remote Infrastructure Managed Services (RIM) to Lenovo’s customers worldwide.

Lenovo India picks Ranbir Kapoor as its brand ambassador for smartphones

Ranbir Kapoor, the critically acclaimed Bollywood actor slash rom-com hero, who incidentally used to be the brand ambassador for Lenovo’s PC products, will now promote the company’s smartphones too. As the company slowly moves away from its focus on PCs to Smartphones, Ranbir Kapoor too will move along to promote the Chinese company’s smartphones as well as tablets in India. The deal includes TV commercials, online advertising and so forth, which will eventually be released in some time to the Indian media.

Lenovo plans to launch sub-Rs.5000 smartphones in India

Lenovo has plans to launch devices priced below Rs 5,000 to India, according to a recent report from The Hindu Business Line. The report also says that Lenovo aims to sell 1 million smartphones in India this year. Lenovo entered into the smartphone market in India last year with launch of 5 Android smartphones priced between Rs. 6499 and Rs. 28499. The company launched range of smartphones, A390, A706, S820, P780, S920 and K900 last week priced between Rs. 8689 and Rs. 32999. The reason behind this new move is their shrinking PC business.
