While the COVID-19 pandemic caused most consumer electronics markets to decline in 2020, the worldwide tablet shipment went the opposite way and recorded strong growth of 18.6% YoY in Q2 2020. A total of 38.6 million units were shipped and Apple maintained its top position, followed by Samsung, Huawei, Amazon and Lenovo.

Earlier this month, Samsung announced the launch of a new product called the UV sterilizer, and it is now available for purchase in India. The product can would quickly disinfect and sterilize smartphones, earbuds, keys, sunglasses in under 10 minutes and even has a wireless charger built-in.
Along with the Reno4 Pro, OPPO just launched its OPPO Watch, the company’s first smartwatch with WearOS by Google in India, as it had promised. The 46mm version has a 1.91-inch 3D flexible AMOLED 326 PPI Retina display with 100% P3 wide color gamut, has 50 meter water resistance. The 41mm version has a 1.6-inch 301 PPI AMOLED screen and comes with 30 meter water resistance. These use Snapdragon 3100 & Apollo 3 dual processors with Wi-Fi support, but doesn’t have eSIM like the Chinese version. OPPO just launched Reno4 Pro, the company’s latest smartphone in the Reno series in India, as it had promised. It packs a 6.5-inch FHD+ E3 Super AMOLED 3D Borderless Sense Screen which is curved 55.9°, comes with 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate and 92.1% screen-to-body ratio. It has a single punch-hole that houses a 32-megapixel front camera and comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner that can unlock the phone in 0.34 seconds. Total shipments were recorded at 278.4 million smartphones and the top 5 manufacturers for the quarter were HUAWEI, Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi and OPPO.

After rumours, Redmi K20 Ultra with the model number M2006J10C has been certified by TENAA in China revealing the specifications. Based on this the phone is said to retain the 6.67-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen, but will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000 with 5G SA/NSA support compared to Snapdragon 865 in the K30 Pro. Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $59.7 billion, up 11% over last year, a new June quarter record with a net profit of $11.25 billion, up 18% YoY and earnings per diluted share of $2.58 for the financial year Q3 2020 that ended June 27, 2020. During earnings call Tim Cook said that both products and services set June quarter records and grew double-digits and revenue grew in each of our geographic segments, reflecting the broad base of this success. It was introduced back in May packing an 8-inch HD+ display with 80% screen-to-body ratio, curved-edge metal body, is powered by the Octa-core MediaTek MT8768 SoC paired with 2GB RAM, 5MP autofocus rear camera and a 2MP front camera.
