Samsung India launched the Galaxy S3 Smartphone in India at Rs.43180 and pre-order customers had to purchase it Rs.42500 which was a little higher than the market price of around Rs.38900.if you were one of the customers who had pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S3 on Samsung India’s eStore and purchased it , good news for you. Samsung has sent out mails to customers who had purchased the Galaxy S3 on the eStore with a coupon worth Rs.1500. the company says in the mail that they are “overwhelmed with the response of Galaxy S III on the eStore.”
At the Nokia Strategy Summit in Chennai today , I had the chance to check out the Nokia Asha 311 which was announced only yesterday along with the Nokia Asha 305 and 306. Entry level phones are generally slow and boring but you would be surprised at what the 311 packs. In fact , it’s the sexiest entry level Nokia phone I have played with in quite some time. While Nokia call the latest Asha phones as Asha Smartphones , they are still pretty much feature phones. The phone is insanely fast for its segment and may be even faster than some Symbian phones and entry level Android phones as it packs a 1GHz processor. Check out the photos of the Asha 311
Folks at Qualcomm think that the Snapdragon S4 processor is cool , guess what ? They have some proof to prove it. In a video released by the company, Qualcomm engineers demonstrate the thermal efficiency of the Snapdragon SoC by melting butter while running the CPU at peak speeds. I was traveling across the US this summer starting from Orlando , going over to Miami Beach and then to New Orleans for CTIA. After that spent part of the weekend in Las Vegas and after that went over to Los Angeles before flying back to India via Frankfurt.
AT&T provided me with a review unit of the LG Nitro HD which supports the carrier’s advertised 4G speeds.AT&T has still not fully rolled out LTE across the US but I don’t know if i was lucky , each and every city I visited had a 4G LTE signal. The device is a 7 inch Android tablet running on latest version of Android 4.0 ICS and packs 16GB of internal memory.It supports both 4G and WiFi functionality. The HTC One S which is the younger sibling of the HTC One X might eventually launch India. The Qualcomm powered Android phone has got priced at Rs.33000 on TheMobileStore as spotted by folks at InstallorNot.I personally prefer the One S over the One X and I would call the One S the iPhone of the Android world. The handset has got a release date of 8th June on the retailer’s website.

Nokia just announced on it’s official blog that the it has advanced that dates for it’s annual event from Sep 25-26 to Sep 5-6. The venue has also moved from London to Helsinki, Finland. Looks like a change in strategy at Nokia and according to the announcement , Nokia World 2012 will be smaller event compared to the previous years and will be only for operators and retail partners. Nokia World has always been a very big annual event for all things Nokia with folks from the company, partners, developers , analysts , journalists , bloggers and industry observers attending the show. After winning regulatory approval in China , Google has finally completed it’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility for a record $12.5 billion. Google CEO Larry Page wrote a blog post today titled “We’ve acquired Motorola Mobility” and that the deal has finally closed after 9 months since the initial announcement. Google now has access to over 17000 patents owned by Motorola Mobility and will come in handy in it’s patent wars against Microsoft and Apple.
