It has been a while since Apple updated their iPod lineup. Many predicted that they could be cancelled especially due to the reduce in demand and the subsequent increase in demand for the iPhone. However a new rumor states that Apple is planning to introduce updated iPods on 14th July.
We told you last year that a nano SIM card which is smaller than the already tiny microSIM card is in the works. Then there were rumours floating around that the next iPhone or the iPhone 5 would be using the nano SIM card slot.What followed was Apple, Nokia , RIM and Motorola defending for their own proposals at the industry standards body known as European Telecommunication Standards Institute ETSI . Throwing open its typically-closed-doors to a live web audience, albeit only for those on the Mac OS or iOS platform, Apple unveiled a slew of new products and services to a capacity crowd at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. A handset that set new benchmarks in smartphone technology will launch a third-generation Apple smartphone in June 2009.
AT&T, the exclusive iPhone carrier in the US, has confirmed the news recently.
The new handset promises to be faster than the 3G experience of current phones and should offer a “more seamless experience.”
