POCO just announced the POCO X3 GT, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the X3 series in Malaysia, as it had promised. This is a rebranded Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G smartphone that was introduced in China in May. It packs a 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Adaptive sync variable refresh rate to switch between 120Hz, 90Hz, 60Hz, 50Hz, 48Hz and 24Hz depending on the content, supports DCI-P3 color gamut and has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. OPPO India conducts Reno6 Series 5G SA network trial with Jio

OPPO India has announced that it has conducted 5G standalone network trial for Reno6 Series under the 5G SA network environment provided by Jio at its 5G Lab. The trial yielded highly positive results, said the company. “The encouraging outcomes of the trial ratify the capabilities of both the devices in the Reno6 Series as true 5G devices, bringing a high-quality 5G experience closer to reality,” said OPPO. Airtel pre-paid recharge packs now start at Rs. 79, entry-level Rs. 49 pack discontinued

Airtel has discontinued its Rs 49 entry level Prepaid recharge. The company said that its prepaid packs will now start from the Rs 79 Smart Recharge, and it says that offer up to four times more outgoing minutes of usage to customers along with double data. OnePlus not expected to launch OnePlus 9T this year

OnePlus 8T was launched in September last year as a successor of the OnePlus 8 with monitor upgrades, but we didn’t see the OnePlus 8T Pro version. A sketchy rumour from earlier this month said that OnePlus 9T will launch in Q3 2021 with a 108MP rear camera tuned by Hasselblad and a quad camera setup, same as the OnePlus 9 series. ZTE just announced its Axon 30 smartphone in China, as it had promised. It has a 6.92-inch Ful HD+ OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The screen has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and supports 10-bit color depth and 1.07 billion colours. It is the first smartphone across the globe to be authorized with the three authoritative eye protection certifications, covering TUV, SGS and UL. The screen can effectively reduce blue light radiation, protect eyesight, and support DC dimming to reduce visual fatigue caused by screen flicker. OPPO Watch 2 with curved AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 4100 & Apollo 4s dual processors, 4G eSIM, VOOC flash charging announced

OPPO just announced OPPO Watch 2, successor to last year’s OPPO Watch in China, as it had promised. It comes in 46mm and 42mm versions, both with 3D curved AMOLED screen. The quick release strap from the predecessor has been replaced with a buckle-type strap, and there is also a calf skin leather version. It comes with support for 4G and native calling, thanks to speakers and microphone. All these feature Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS and NFC support for payment. RedmiBook laptop launching in India on August 3

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has confirmed the launch of the first RedmiBook laptop in India on August 3rd. Xiaomi launched its first Mi Notebook laptop, the Mi Notebook 14 in India, back in June last year. Even though the company had filed RedmiBook trademark in India in January 2020, it took over a year for the company to launch a RedmiBook device in the country. Motorola Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro with 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display, 108MP triple rear cameras to be announced on August 5

After rumours, and certifications, Motorola has scheduled the launch of its new 5G smartphones Edge 20 (XT2143-1) and Edge 20 Pro (XT2153-1) in China on August 5th. The company said that the phones will feature over 100MP cameras, and the Lenovo China GM said that this will be the thinnest 5G mobile phone in Motorola’s history.
