At its latest product launch event, vivo formally unveiled the vivo X500 smartphone alongside a lineup of new smart devices, as it had announced.
In addition to standard retail packages, vivo introduced a specialized “Sunny Day” co-branded edition. This package incorporates the designated “Sunny Day” colorway alongside software additions, including a dedicated liquid UI theme, cinematic color profiles, and pre-installed album background audio.
Camera Hardware and Video Capabilities
The device introduces a substantially revised imaging setup headlined by the largest primary camera sensor implemented in the X series to date.
- Primary Sensor: A 1/1.28-inch Blueprint × Sony LYTIA-828 sensor equipped with Zeiss gimbal-level stabilization, rated to CIPA 5.5 standards.
- Telephoto Sensor: Employs the Sony LYTIA-610 sensor—matching the hardware found on the X500 Pro APO telephoto unit—paired with equivalent CIPA 5.5 stabilization. The module supports 4K recording at 120fps for slow-motion playback and is compatible with the “Lipstick 200” teleconverter accessory.
- Live Media & Video: The X500 is the first commercial smartphone to offer native 8K Live functionality, developed in conjunction with platforms such as Weibo to enable direct sharing. It also supports native 4K cinematic Live video with customizable movie color grading styles.
Display, Battery, and Core Specifications
On the front, the phone carries a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPS flat display supporting a 144Hz refresh rate. It is available in four standard color options: Earth Echo, Sunny Day, Dawn, and Night.
Internally, the vivo X500 debuts the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9600M processor alongside vivo’s proprietary Blueprint Imaging Chip V3+. Power is supplied by a 7,500mAh battery supporting 90W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging.
Durability and biometric features include dual IP68 and IP69 dust- and water-resistance ratings and an under-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Software
The handset debuts running OriginOS 7 out of the box. Key interface additions include an updated “liquid” design system, elastic touchscreen unlock animations, and automatic photo synchronization effects. According to vivo, the operating system is engineered to provide sustained responsiveness rated for up to 72 months of standard usage.

The phone is now available to order and will go on sale in China starting from September 24th.
