
Samsung India has cut the price of both their 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2 Android tablets. The Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S Duos smartphones got a price cut earlier this month. Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 2 310 in India back in May last year at a MOP of Rs. 19,500 and the Wi-Fi only variant, the Galaxy Tab 2 311 went on sale in India couple of weeks back at Rs. 13,900. PVR app for BlackBerry 10 with NFC wallet launched

PVR has launched NFC-enabled PVR app for BlackBerry 10 devices, powered by NEC’s Integrated E-money solution. BlackBerry launched the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone in India yesterday, and this app would let movie goers, tap & pay for movie tickets and refreshments without using paper money across 15 PVR cinemas in cities including Delhi & NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. LG rolls out Android 4.1 update for Optimus Vu 2 in Korea

LG has started rolling out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Optimus Vu 2 in Korea. The LG Optimus Vu 2 was launched in Korea back in September with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). LG confirmed Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for range of high-end devices including, Optimus LTE 2, Optimus G, Optimus Vu and Optimus Vu 2 last year. Sony Mobile to launch Firefox OS device in 2014

Mozilla previewed the first commercial build of its Firefox OS at the MWC 2013. The company had announced that Alcatel (TCL), LG, ZTE and Huawei would release smartphones running Firefox OS later this year. Telefónica one of the operator partners for the Firefox OS has announced that they have partnered with Sony Mobile to bring the Firefox-powered mobile devices next year. Airtel to launch Voice services for 4G LTE customers in Pune

Airtel has announced that they would launch voice services for 4G TD-LTE customers in Pune soon, through its existing GSM network. Airtel is the only operator in India to combine voice with TD-LTE services through GSM network. Airtel launched their 4G LTE services in Pune last October, followed by Kolkata and Bengaluru. Nokia Siemens Networks would deploy its Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) voice solution in the operator’s live TD-LTE network in Pune. LG unveils World’s smallest Wireless Charger WCP-300

LG has releases a new Wireless Charging Pad (WCP-300), which is just 6.98 cm in diameter. LG claims that it is the world’s smallest wireless charger. Even though it is small in size, it would would offer better charging efficiency than the existing LG wireless chargers with up to 1.7 times large area with its circular design. ZTE Open with Firefox OS, 1 GHz processor announced

ZTE has announced the ZTE Open with Mozilla Firefox OS. It is just an entry-level smartphone with a 3.5-inch (480×320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1GHz MSM7225A Snapdragon S1 processor. ZTE Grand Memo with 5.7-inch HD display, 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor announced

ZTE teased the Grand Memo at Hong Kong last month, now the company has officially unveiled the device at MWC 2013. It features a 5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). We have seen the Optimus G Pro, HTC One and the latest Asus Padfone Infinity, but this is the first Smartphone to be announced with a Snapdragon 800 processor. Sony Xperia Tablet Z to roll out globally from Q2 2013

Sony unveiled the Xperia Tablet Z in Japan last month. Here at MWC 2013 the company did not announced any new devices, but announced that it would roll out globally in Q2 2013. The Xperia Tablet Z has a 10.1-inch HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) WUXGA Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, Shatter proof sheet on scratch-resistant glass and has unique OmniBalance design similar to the Xperia Z smartphone. It has S-Force Front Surround 3D, Clear Audio+ mode and two in-built speakers for enhanced audio output. It would come in 4G LTE / 3G and WiFi-only variants. Asus has announced the most rumored fonepad finally at the MWC 2013 in Barcelona. It comes with a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display, runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. It has a 3 MP rear camera with 720p video recording and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. It has metallic finish and comes with 3G support with voice calling features. Asus has announced the Padfone Infinity, successor of the Padfone 2 that was unveiled few months back. It has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
