New renders of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus surface

New renders of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus have been leaked thanks to a case manufacturer called ITSKINS. These renders more or less confirm the existence of the S6 Edge Plus which some sources had stated to be just a cooked up device. The renders show us the rough design, layout and controls of the devices.

UMi teases their upcoming Hammer S smartphone – Will feature a USB Type-C port

It seems that Chinese manufacturers love the USB Type-C port. After LeTV started the trend, several manufacturers chose to adopt the trend including OnePlus which recently confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will indeed sport a USB Type-C port. Xiaomi might release a version of the Mi 4i that’s powered by the Snapdragon 808

The Xiaomi Mi 4i is a cheaper version of the Mi 4 with slightly downgraded specifications. The current Mi 4i which was launched in India by Xiaomi features a Snapdragon 615 processor. However it seems that they are planning to release a version which is powered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor.

Acer S59 selfie phone shows up on benchmarks – Packs 5″ HD screen, octa-core CPU and 13MP cameras

Vertu V06 shows up in benchmarks – Snapdragon 810 and 4GB RAM on-board

While Vertu is famously known for their design and craftmanship, their handsets often run on outdated hardware and perhaps even software. While they have been trying to change that in the past few years, they still do lag behind a bit. But that is about to change if these new benchmarks have anything to say. Microsoft Lumia 940 and 940 XL to feature polycarbonate bodies – Pricing higher than iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6

The Microsoft Lumia 940 and 940 XL rumours are slowly gaining traction. the last rumour was a leak that confirmed the existence of a Quad HD Windows phone which is most likely the 940 XL and a smaller 1080p smartphone which should be the 940. A new report now suggests that both the 940 XL as well as the 940 will sport polycarbonate bodies and will be priced higher than the Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.

Apple made 92% of the profits in the smartphone industry during Q1 2015 – Samsung follows behind with 15%
