The Microsoft Lumia 940 and 940 XL rumours are slowly gaining traction. the last rumour was a leak that confirmed the existence of a Quad HD Windows phone which is most likely the 940 XL and a smaller 1080p smartphone which should be the 940. A new report now suggests that both the 940 XL as well as the 940 will sport polycarbonate bodies and will be priced higher than the Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.

In April, we brought to you news about the Lumia 940 and the 940 XL. The Lumia 940 is expected to have a 5.2″ screen while the 940 XL is expected to pack a larger 5.7″ screen. An ad network has apparently listed two devices with model numbers RM-1104/1105 and RM-1100 which fall right into place with the two rumoured 940 phones.
While Microsoft is launching Windows 10 officially on July 29th, users of Windows Mobile will have to wait a bit longer to get access to Windows 10 Mobile as it is apparently scheduled for a launch in late September.
Samsung has just been granted a patent for a dual-OS notebook that has a built-in phablet dock. The theoretical notebook would for example allow users to use Windows 10 by default and then switch over to Android OS and control their smartphone by placing it in the dock.
Microsoft has stated that they will be taking full control over the firmware updates on devices running Windows 10 including PCs, tablets and smartphones. This will be done in order to avoid fragmentation in the OS ecosystem.
Earlier on in the year, Microsoft had stated that both genuine and non-genuine users of Windows 7, Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1 will get an upgrade to Windows 10 free of charge during the first year since its release. But now Microsoft is stating that the upgrade will not be available free of charge to those who are using non-genuine versions of Windows.
Leaked screenshots of the upcoming Windows 10 OS from Microsoft show us the changes in the UI and the new 3D tiles. Another major change is that Microsoft is bringing back the Aero Glass feature that was used in Windows 7 and Vista.
According to a new rumor, Microsoft is readying two new flagship Lumia devices to be launched this year – the Lumia 940 and the 940 XL. Both the phones will be will be running Windows 10 out of the box.
