Chinese smartphone shipments hit 438 million units in 2015, Xiaomi maintains lead : Report

Chinese smartphone shipments grew 3 percent annually to hit a record 438 million units in 2015, according to the latest report from Strategy Analytics. Xiaomi maintained the top spot by shipping 17.5 million smartphones and captured 15 percent market share in China in Q4 2015, up 11 percent annually.

Xiaomi faced poor smartphones sales in 2015 – Below their lowest expectations

Xiaomi declined to reveal the sales numbers for its smartphones to the media in December 2015. People expected that the company could be avoiding it as they might have missed their target of 80-100 million devices that year. However, the actual sales numbers are much worse according to Weibo.

Twitter records $569 million in revenues for Q3 2015, claims 320M MAU

Twitter has announced its earnings report for the third quarter and recorded $569 million in revenues, up 58% year-over-year. It had issued guidance that it would generate $545 to $560 million in revenue.

Google records $18.7 billion in revenue, $3.98 billion in net income for Q3, 2015

Alphabet has announced Google’s Q3 results ending September 30th, 2015. Google recorded a total revenue of $18.7 billion, a 13% year-over-year increase from last year’s $16.5 billion.

Hands On with the LG G4c and G4s

At IFA 2015 in Berlin, we were able to go hands on with two LG devices that are based on the traits of LG’s flagship G4. The phones are the G4c and the G4s. ZTE Nubia My Prague Hands On

For those of you who don’t know Nubia, it is a sub-brand of ZTE that comes up with interesting devices. The Nubia devices have one common trademark which is their home button that has red backlighting in all colour variants that they are available in. That is the easiest way to spot a Nubia device in the wild. We went hands on with the Nubia My Prague at IFA 2015 which is as interesting as its name sounds.

We know the device is priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 12,999 for the 8GB (1GB RAM) and 16GB (2GB RAM) variants respectively. It will be available exclusively through Flipkart starting tonight.
