Samsung launched their flagship Android phone the Galaxy S4 in New York City on March 14,2013 amidst a lot of hype and excitement very similar to what the iPhone has always received.The Galaxy S4 is a beast in terms of specs packing a 5inch SuperAMOLED 1080p display, 8-core processor, 13MP Camera, LTE, Android 4.2.2. HTC One Developer Edition with unlocked Bootloader announced for US at $649

HTC One Developer Edition

HTC has announced the HTC One Developer Edition for the US that would come with a SIM and bootloader unlocked. The HTC One was announced last month and packs a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with the new HTC Sense UI and HTC BlinkFeed. It also has an UltraPixel rear camera with LED Flash, BSI Sensor, Full HD (1080p) video recording with HDR Video and a 2 MP HD front-facing camera.

Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 get software update in US and Canada, global roll out from February 2013


Nokia has started rolling out a new PR 1.1 software update for the Lumia 920 and the Lumia 820 in the US and Canada. This update would bring several enhancements including improved Bluetooth connectivity, faster start-up and better imaging and battery management. Nokia Lumia 822 announced, coming exclusively to Verizon this fall

Nokia has finally announced the Lumia 822, their new Windows Phone 8 device exclusive for Verizon Wireless. It surfaced earlier this month as Nokia Atlas and has similar features as the 820 including a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) AMOLED  ClearBlack display, 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and Windows Phone 8 OS. Unlike the 820, this phone has a curved design. It would support Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Microsoft Surface RT and Windows Phone 8 to be officially launched this month

Microsoft has announced the Surface RT and Windows Phone 8 launch events in San Francisco scheduled for the end of this month. The Microsoft Surface RT event is set for October 25th, and the Windows Phone 8 event is set for October 29th. Microsoft announced the Surface Tablet back in June and the Surface RT would come with a 10-inch (1366×768 pixels) touch screen display and would be powered by an ARM processor. It would have a micro SD card slot, USB 2.0, Micro HD Video, 2×2 MIMO antennae for better WiFi connectivity. Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 coming to AT&T in November

AT&T has announced they would sell both the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820, Nokia’s latest Windows Phone 8 devices. Both these devices were announced last month at an Event in New York, and the price of these phones were revealed for some European countries last week. The Lumia 920 has a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display, while the 820 comes with a 4.3 inch-inch (800 x 480 pixels) OLED  ClearBlack display. Both these phones are powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and has a 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video recording. Barnes and Noble takes on the Amazon Kindle Fire with Nook HD and Nook HD+

Barnes and Nobles was recently in the lime light for making a partnership deal with Microsoft with respect to the “Nook” category of devices the book giant produces. We were wary of what the outcome might be, but in an obvious move, they are trying to battle their competitors again, with the announcement of the new Nooks, name the Nook HD and the Nook HD+. Clearly, these new Nooks are the answers to the latest Kindle Fires from Amazon, their arch rivals in the e-reader world. Apple iPhone 5 Launch Day Pictures


Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 with a larger 4-inch display and a faster A6 processor earlier this month. The iPhone 5 pre-orders crossed 2 million units, 24 hours after the pre-orders began on September 14th. People started queuing up 3 days earlier at the Apple’s famous Fifth Avenue store in New York City to get the iPhone 5 on the launch day, September 21st.Parth Dhebar was queing up outside his local Apple Store and got us these interesting pictures. Amazon Kindle Fire gets a Price Cut , Improved Specs

Amazon has cut the price of the Kindle Fire to $159 from $199. It also comes with upgraded specs including a 1.2 GHz OMAP4430 processor with 40% faster performance, 1GB of RAM and longer battery life of up to 8.5 hours. Other features remain the same as the original Kindle Fire from the previous year including a 7-inch (1024×600 pixels) IPS display, 8 GB of internal memory, USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and Wi-Fi support. Amazon announces Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch Tablet for $299, 4G LTE at $499

Amazon has announced the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 along with their 7-inch Kindle Fire HD. This comes with a 8.9-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) display with 254 ppi. It has a polarizing filter on the LCD panel for deep contrast and rich color and anti-glare technology, so that you can view it from any angle. It is powered by an 1.5 GHz Dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP processor and has SGX544 graphics engine. It runs on customized version of Android, but the version is not known yet. It has Dolby audio with dual stereo speakers, Dual-band WiFi with dual-antennas / MIMO for 40% faster throughput than other tablets. It also comes in 4G LTE version. Motorola Droid Razr M with 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display, 4G LTE coming to Verizon on September 13 for $99.99

Motorola has announced Droid Razr M for Verizon Wireless. It has a edge-to-edge 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) Super AMOLED Advanced display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich that is upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean by end of 2012. It comes with an 8MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD recording and a VGA front-facing camera with 720p HD video video recording. It has DuPont Kevlar fiber at the back and supports 4G LTE networks. LG Optimus Vu coming to Verizon as LG Intuition on September 6 for $199.99

LG has released the Optimus Vu for Verizon Wireless in the USA as Intuition. It would have similar features as the Korean version including a 5-inch display with 4:3 Aspect Ratio and 650 nits brightness, 1.5 GHz Dual Core Snapdragon Processor, 4G LTE support, but would come with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on-board. Nokia has launched Nokia Music service for Lumia devices in USA. This would let them stream music from a suite of over 150 exclusive playlists. It offers music from different genres that are created by global artists such as Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. It is an ad-free service that doesn’t require any registration or subscription. Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 with 10.1-inch HD IPS display, Android 4.0 launched

Lenovo has launched IdeaTab S2110 at IFA 2012. It is an upgraded version of the IdeaTab S2109 that was announced in April. It has a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) in-plane switching (IPS) display and is powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060A Processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5 MP Auto focus camera LED flash at the back and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. It is 8.69mm thick and weighs 580 grams.
