HTC is all set to launch Desire 626, a new smartphone in the Desire 600 series. Press images and complete specifications of the smartphone have been leaked by @upleaks. According to the leak, the smartphone would come with a 5-inch HD display and would run on Android 4.4 Kitkat with HTC Sense UI on top. It would get Android 5.0 update later, says the leakster. WhatsApp to get a web client soon reveals leaked screenshots

WhatsApp Messenger screenshots in Spanish shows the instructions to use the web client. This will work like Airdroid or other clients that offers remote web access. Nokia Networks reportedly bags Rs. 1240 crore 4G contract from Airtel

Nokia Networks has bagged Rs 1,240 crore ($200 million) contract from Bharti Airtel to build 4G network in the 1800 MHz band in six telecom circles, according to ET.  Airtel will soon announce the deal that will cover Mumbai, MP, West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab and Kerala circles, according the report.

MediaTek to release its first 64-bit Octa-Core 20nm SoC in Q4 2015 reveals leaked roadmap

MediaTek is working on a 64-bit Octa Core SoC in the MT67XX series, which will be MediaTek’s first chip that will be based on 20nm process, according to a leaked roadmap. MediaTek introduced the MT6795 SoC last year as the world’s first 64-bit Octa-Core smartphone SoC with built-in 4G LTE Cat.9. It has 4 ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs and 4 ARM Cortex-A57 CPUs and is based on 28nm process. Unlike the MT6795 SoC, the upcoming SoC would come with Cat.6 LTE and is expected to be targeted at mid to high-end 4G devices.

HTC reportedly plans to introduce more budget 4G smartphones in Q1 2015

HTC plans to launch entry-level 4G smartphones in the first quarter of 2015, according to a report from DigiTimes. It expects to ship twice the amount of products next year compared to this year, the report adds. This was revealed by Jack Tong, president of HTC North Asia. Earlier: Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Note Edge smartphone in India in January 2015 at a price tag of Rs. 68,500, according to a report from ET. The report says that it would retail for Rs. 64,900. Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 4 smartphone in India for Rs. 58300 back in October, which now retails for Rs. 57,000 on the official Samsung eStore. Samsung Z1 Tizen smartphone reportedly launching in India in January 2015

Samsung is all set to launch the Samsung Z1, the company’s budget Tizen OS smartphone in India on January 18th 2015, according to a report from Korea Economic Daily. Earlier reports in September and November said that the Tizen powered smartphone will hit Indian markets by November or December. Looks like the launch will finally happen in January. Samsung has also started their partners meet for the Samsung Z1 in India. Since January 18th lies on Sunday, the date might be wrong. Google plans to roll out Android 5.1 update by February of 2015, according to a report from AndroidPIT. Google started rolling out the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the Nexus devices last month and recently rolled out a minor Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop) update to fix some bug. According to the report, the Android 5.1 would bring new features such as update with Silent Mode, changes to the Material Design color palette, improved RAM management and more.
