Yesterday, we told you that the Samsung Galaxy A8 (SM-A8000) is going to sport a fingerprint sensor. The phone was initially rumored to be sporting a 5.7″ display but now according to a new benchmark, the device might actually have a 5.5″ display.

The handset’s benchmark that has appeared on GeekBench shows that the handset has a 5.5″ display. It also shows that the device is running Android Lollipop 5.1.1 which means we should be getting the version right out of the box. The rest of the specification remains the same though. So that would mean that despite having the same display size as the A7, the device will be a higher end handset.

The phone is expected to pack a Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB of RAM. The phone has a 16 Megapixel camera at the back and a 5 Megapixel camera at the front. The device will have LTE support and pack a 3050 mAH battery despite having a really slim profile at 5.9mm.

It will also be sporting a touch based fingerprint sensor like the one on the S6/S6 Edge. There is no news regarding the announcement date of the Galaxy A8 but the device should be announced sometime soon to follow up the success of the A series.
