Epson has launched Moverio BT-100, the world’s first Android-based, see-through wearable display. It is powered by Android 2.2 and lets you to privately view video, experience side-by-side 3D content, play games and enjoy content on a floating see-through display. It has 6 hours of rechargeable battery life and has a 1GB of internal memory with an additional microSD card slot. It also has WiFi connectivity and Adobe flash support to stream online videos. MediaTek MT6577 1GHz dual-core processor to power Spice Stellar Horizon and Micromax A90

Semiconductor manufacturer MediaTek has announced that the Spice Stellar Horizon (Mi-500) and the Micromax A90 would come with a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor. The Micromax A90 Superfone Pixel was originally launched in India last month for Rs. 12990, and we reviewed it recently. It had a MediaTek MT6575 single-core processor instead of a dual-core processor, as it was announced during the launch. The Spice Stellar Horizon (Mi-500) that was launched in June at Rs. 11,999 was expected to come with a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but it was delayed for several months.Now it is confirmed that it would come with a MediaTek MT6577 processor instead. Apple iPhone 5 Launch Countries and Rollout

Apple will be launching the iPhone on September 21 in 9 countries – Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the US and the UK.  Apple will begin taking pre-orders in these countries this Friday September 14. Interestingly UK, Singapore and Hong Kong are countries in which Apple sells iPhones at the full price and mostly unlocked.  If you plan to be one of the 1st to own the iPhone 5 and live outside the US, may be you should ping your friends in these 3 countries or may be take an iVacation. Apple iPhone 5 Singapore Prices are Revealed , starts from S$948

Singapore is one of the few countries getting the iPhone 5 on launch day September 21 and Singapore is one of those markets where Apple directly sells unlocked iPhones on it’s online store to consumers.  The 16GB iPhone 5 is expected to cost 948 SGD (Singapore Dollars).  Apple will start taking Pre-orders on September 14.

Unlocked Apple iPhone 5 Prices for UK Revealed

While Apple has revealed only the Contract-only pricing for the Apple iPhone 5 in the US, the company is going to sell unlocked versions of the iPhone 5 at launch in the UK. Interestingly the base model starts from 529 pounds an increase of 30 pounds compared to the iPhone 4S. One point to note is that the price includes a 20% VAT or Sales Tax. If you were thinking of getting the iPhone 5 from UK , 529 GBP at current pound levels is about Rs.47000 approx in terms of the Indian Rupee. Call me crazy but I still have my 1st iPhone which I got in 2007 and guess what ? it still works. Samsung Galaxy Beam Review


Samsung launched the Galaxy Beam (GT-i8530) with a pico projector in India in July. It was announced at MWC 2012 earlier this year. Even though the main feature of this phone is the projector, it packs in powerful specs including a 4.0-inch 480×800 (WVGA) TFT display, 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor and is just 12.5 mm thick. Airtel launches Smartdrive mobile app with real time traffic information and Voice-based Navigation

Airtel is on a spree of launching mobile apps. They launched the my airtel app to pay bills and manage services. Now, they have launched Smartdrive app that offers real-time traffic information and voice based turn by turn navigation upon subscription. Sony Xperia miro up for pre-order in India for Rs. 14499

Sony Xperia miro is now available for pre-order from online retailer Flipkart in India. It was announced in June and packs in a 3.5-inch (320×480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, 800 MHz processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). 4G LTE Speed Test on EE featuring the Galaxy S3 LTE and Ascend P1 LTE

Today’s announcement by EE on the arrival of 4G LTE in the UK heralds a new era in this Britain’s telecommunication industry. It’s been a long time waiting, and judging by the initial hands on demonstration, it seems that it will be worth the wait.

Huawei’s Ascend P1 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 were two of the few handsets on display at the EE press conference today. Initial speed test shows that the devices were capable of achieving and maintaining 25+Mbps download and 12+Mbps upload speed, a fair upgrade over T-Mobile’s current 3G network.

No price plans has been announced yet. The rollout of EE’s 4G LTE network will begin this year and they aim to cover 1/3rd of the population by the end of the year.

Everything Everywhere launches a new company brand, LTE in Britain

Everything Everywhere, the UK telecommunication company that was formed following the merger of T-Mobile and Orange UK, today announced a new company brand and details of their LTE network, the first in Britain. The company will from today be called EE, though the T-Mobile and Orange brands will continue to co-exist. EE is positioning the new brand as one focused on delivering super fast broadband via fiber and 4G LTE service.

EE’s 4G network will be switched on for trials today in London, with more cities joining at a later date. In addition to London, EE aims to launch LTE Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Edinburgh, Belfast, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Newcastle, Southampton, Hull, Nottingham and Derby by Christmas of this year. They aim to provide a coverage for 20 million people, a third of the population of Britain, by the end of the year.

EE has insisted that the new brand will allow them to tap other markets, including fibre and broadband as well as other new categories. While the 700 T-Mobile, Orange and Everything Everywhere stores will be rebranded to EE, there will be three distinct brands for consumers, with EE focused primarily on the top-end of the spectrum. Phones confirmed to be launching on the network includes the Samsung Galaxy S III LTE, HTC One XL, Huawei Ascend P1 LTE, Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920.

CyanogenMod rolls out M-Series, monthly taste of stable CM for super users

It’s very difficult for less adventurous Android users to get around stable versions of CM from time to time, the adventurous kind are usually happy with the nightlies. So then others have to look out for third party unofficial builds of CyanogenMod ROMs which are unreliable and can give problems. So the awesome guys at CyanogenMod have come out with M-Series, where they release a somewhat stable version of CM  for everyone to use as a daily driver.

Google releases new YouTube app for iPhone

Since the license to include the YouTube app in iOS is over Apple removed the YouTube app in the latest iOS 6 beta, and said it would not come pre-installed with the iOS 6. Now, Google has released a separate YouTube app for iPhone. This app has new UI that looks similar to the Android app with the channel guide UI that shows subscribed channel on the left pane. It also has a search box with auto complete feature and voice search option.
