Motorola Mobility India Website Shut Down , bye bye Moto

Seems hard to believe but Motorola does not have a dedicated website anymore for India.

Google had acquired Motorola Mobility in a multi-billion dollar deal last year and very recently the company had said that it was indeed shutting down its India operations due to the global restructuring under the new owner . The Motorola India website along with several other country sites have been shutdown and a message pops up when you log on to the site. WishTel IRA Icon HD 8-inch 3G tablet running Android 4.0 launched for Rs.12999

WishTel has launched IRA Icon HD, their new tablet with a 8-inch TFT capacitive multi-touch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. It has 3G support with built-in SIM card slot and has voice calling features. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The company launched a 7-inch tablet IRA THING 2 and a 10.1-inch IRA Comet HD few months back. Samsung Galaxy Camera launched in India for Rs. 29,900


Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy Camera in India. It was first unveiled at  IFA in Berlin in August, and Samsung announced couple of months back that it would launch in India this month. Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Camera few weeks back. The 16 Megapixel camera has 21x Optical Zoom Lens with BSI CMOS sensor. It packs in a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super Clear Touch Display with 308 ppi and is powered by a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Penta T-Pad WS802C-2G 8-inch Android tablet with Voice calling launched for Rs. 8299

Pantel Technologies has launched T-Pad WS802C-2G, their new tablet with built-in SIM card slot for voice calling and 2G connectivity. It has a 8-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display with and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and has WiFi and 3G support via USB Dongle for data connectivity. Lava IRIS N320 Dual SIM Android Smartphone launched for Rs. 3999

Lava Mobiles has launched IRIS N320, their new Dual SIM Android phone in the IRIS series, followed by the IRIS N350. Features of the IRIS N320 are similar to the N350 including a 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) Capacitive multi-touch display, 1GHz processor and Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). It has a 2 Megapixel camera with LED flash at the back, but lacks a front-facing camera that was present in the N350. This doesn’t have 3G support similar to the IRIS N350. Jolla Mobile shows off Sailfish UI, promises multitasking and effortless interaction

Jolla Mobile, the startup born from the ashes of the MeeGo team at Nokia showed off the UI for their brand new mobile OS today at the Slush conference. While there’s a lot more yet to be revealed, the OS itself is based on the open source Mer core. The interface is heavily inspired by the much praised Harmattan UI on the Nokia N9 and places a lot of emphasis on single handed usage.

Jolla unveils Sailfish OS and SDK, partners with ST-Ericsson and DNA

Jolla Mobile, the Finnish mobile startup has unveiled their new Sailfish OS with effortless and innovative User Interface (UI) at the Slush startup event in Finland as they announced last month. They have also released Sailfish Software Development Kit (SDK) for the developer community and announced that the Jolla devices would be powered by ST-Ericsson’s Nova Thor processor.
