Samsung Galaxy S4 Unboxing

The Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced for the Indian market yesterday and priced at Rs.41500. Here is our unboxing video of the retail package which will go on sale in India today at several stores across India mainly in Delhi , Mumbai ,  Bangalore and Hyderabad.The Indian version packs Samsung’s Octa-core processor which is a combination of a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor.

Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy

Alcatel One Touch launched the One Touch Idol and One Touch Idol Ultra Android smartphones last week in India for Rs. 15800 and Rs. 21000 respectively. Now the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy (8000D) is available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. It was announced at the MWC 2013 earlier this year and packs a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has HD sound and dedicated touch pen and magnetic MagicFlip. Celkon, known for its cheap value for money Android phones, including its new A119 Signature HD that we reviewed recently, has been spotted of selling its new low end Android device, the Celkon A62 on Snapdeal. The device comes with a huge 4.7 inch screen, with a resolution of 854×480 pixels. While it may not sound really exciting, we must remind you that it costs Rs. 6,799/- which is probably one of the few devices that have a huge screen at this price.

Smartphones outship Feature phones for the first time ever – IDC

International Data Corporation(IDC), the market research firm that usually outs numbers for the mobile phone market every quarter has something new to say this quarter. According to them, the first quarter of 2013 has been the first time ever in the history of the mobile phone market that the Smartphones have outshipped feature phones. The whole worldwide mobile phone market seems to have grown 4% this quarter. Samsung still remains the leader in the mobile phone market dominating sales in both smartphones as well as feature phones.

Samsung Galaxy S4 packs a Octacore Exynos Processor in India

Samsung launched the all new Galaxy S4 amidst much fanfare in Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon today, in India near New Delhi. Like we had expected, Samsung has not launched the Snapdragon 600 powered version like in other LTE markets including USA and Europe. The Galaxy S4 variant launched here in India will pack the Exynos 5410 Octa-core processor developed by Samsung using the ARM big.LITTLE architecture. Samsung Galaxy S4 launched in India at a Price of Rs.41,500

Samsung today launched the much awaited Galaxy S4 android smartphone in India at an event here in Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon. This 5 inch full HD flagship device from Samsung which will go on sale starting tomorrow April 27th, is priced at Rs. 41,500. As expected, the 1.6 GHz Octa-core variant of the Galaxy S4 will be made available for the Indian market. The device will first go on sale in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore tomorrow and all over India after that. It comes bundled with a Vodafone offer, unlimited 3G internet with FUP, 3000 minutes worth of local and STD voice calls, 750 local and national messages. Samsung Galaxy S4 launching at Reliance Digital stores on April 27th

Looks like Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S4 in India through multiple channels.  The much anticipated Android phone will be launched at Reliance Digital Stores  across India on April 27th with a launch party for pre-booking customers in the evening in Mumbai. Certain outlets have started pre-bookings since yesterday. We had reported today morning about the Galaxy S4 going on sale on Samsung’s official online store on 27th.

It has a 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash, 720p HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has in-built in-built Digital Theatre System (DTS) Sound, YAMAHA 168 music system for enhanced audio experience. Once considered a leader amongst smartphone manufacturers, HTC has fallen from grace due to increasing competition and in some ways failure to keep up. With ever declining sales, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is in a dire scenario that calls for desperate measures.

Acer Liquid E2 with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1 announced

Acer has announced the Liquid E2, successor of the Liquid E1 that was released earlier this year. It has a 4.5-inch (960 × 540 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) similar to the Liquid E1, but it is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor. It has a 8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED flash, 1080p HD video recording and  can capture 8 pictures per second in burst mode. It also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It also features dual speakers and DTS digital audio support for enhanced audio output. It also has dual SIM variant, Acer Liquid E2 Duo that would be available in select markets. Fly F45s with 4.5-inch IPS display, Android 4.1 launched for Rs. 11500

Fly Mobiles has launched the Fly F45s, the company’s latest Android smartphone. It has a 4.5-inch (960 × 540 pixels) qHD capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 12-megapixel auto focus camera with LED Flash that can take 80 burst shots. It also has a 3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support with dual standby. Videocon is also expected to launch the A47 with a 4.7-inch qHD display, Android 4.1 and a 12MP camera. The Celkon A119 Signature HD that we reviewed recently has a 5-inch HD display, but most of the features are similar to the Fly F45S.

Nokia has announced the Asha 210, the company’s new phone in the Asha series with a dedicated WhatsApp button. This is the world’s first phone to have a dedicated WhatsApp button. Nokia released the Asha 205, a QWERTY phone with a dedicated button to access Facebook. It has a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display, a QWERTY keyboard. It has Slam feature to share multimedia content like photos, music and videos with nearby friends instantly. It has a 2MP rear camera with dedicated camera key. It has Self-portrait and option to share photos easily straight from the camera application to your social networks.

LG Optimus G Pro likely to launch in India by June

LG announced its competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note earlier this year in the form of the Optimus G Pro which is a large screen Android phone / Phablet and one of the first phones to be powered by the Snapdragon 600 processor. LG India has confirmed to FoneArena that it will soon launch the Optimus G Pro here in India most likely by June. Looks like Videocon is all set to release  range of Android smartphones. The Videocon A47 would be the company’s flagship device that would feature a 4.7-inch (960 × 540 pixels)  5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core 1GHz processor. It would run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. The Videocon A53 and the A51 would feature a 5.3-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) and a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) touch screen displays respectively. Both these phones would be powered by a dual-core processors and run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). All these phones would come with dual SIM support. Byond Tech, popular for the Mi-Book series of tablets has launched Phablet I, in the Byond Phablet smartphone series. It has a 5.3-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) IPS capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 8MP rear camera wih LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Byond smartphones. The company launched the Byond PIII with a 6-inch display last year  and the Byond Phablet PII with a 5.7-inch HD display earlier this year.
