Along with the Vibe X2, Lenovo also announced the Vibe Z2, the next smartphone in the Vibe Z series. It has a 5.5-inch HD screen and is powered by a quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC, compared to the 5.5-inch 1080p screen and Snapdragon 800 SoC on the Vibe Z. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor sensor, dual LED flash, optical image stabilization (OIS), BSI sensor and has a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Angry Birds Stella released for Android, iOS and BlackBerry 10

Rovio has released Angry Birds Stella, a new game in the Angry Birds franchise aimed at female fans. This include the main Stella bird and her group who are on a quest to protect Golden Island from the greedy Bad Princess. The game is available for Android, iOS and BlackBerry 10, but there is no sign of Windows Phone app yet. The game is free to download and includes in-app purchases in the form of coins. Samsung just announced the Galaxy Tab Active, the company’s first rugged Galaxy Tablet with anti-shock covering that can withstand a 1.2-meter drop, with the protective cover on. It is also water and dust resistant with IP67 certification. It has 8.0-inch WXGA displays, powered by 1.2 quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It comes in WiFi and 3G / LTE variants. It has physical keys below the display.

Nokia to launch free maps for Android and iOS by the end of 2014

Sony launched the Xperia Z3 line up yesterday that includes the Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet. At the time of the announcement, the company did not reveal the prices of these devices. Micromax sends invite to launch a new smartphone on September 8

Micromax has sent out press invites to launch a new smartphone on September in New Delhi. The event was supposed to happen on September 1st, but it got postponed. The invitation doesn’t reveal anything apart from the time, date and location, but the company today teased a new smartphone on their Facebook page back that reveal few details about the smartphone. It also says that it would launch exclusively on Snapdeal.

The Z3 Compact has a 4.6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) Triluminos Display with X-Reality engine, slightly larger than the Z1 Compact, powered by 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens, 4K video recording and a 2.2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera, similar to the Xperia Z3. It has the same 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality similar to the Z2, but the screen is more brighter 600 cd brightness and has smaller bezels on the sides. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with Smart OIS and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture.
