Acer has announced the Iconia One 8 at the IFA 2014, along with new Iconia Tab 10. It has a 8-inch (1280×800 pixels) HD IPS display based on Zero Air Gap technology and anti-fingerprint coating technology, powered by a quad-core Intel Atom TM Z3735G processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Acer has announced the Iconia Tab 10 A3-A20 tablet at the IFA 2014 as expected. It comes with a 10.1-inch full HD screen, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The display resolution might vary depending on the market says Acer, so it might also come with a HD screen in some markets. Samsung launched several budget Android smartphones – Galaxy Star 2, Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Ace NXT smartphones in India. Today the company has launched a budget smartphone called Galaxy V (SM-G313HZ) in Malaysia. It has a 4-inch WVGA screen, 1.2 GHz processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Xolo announced the Win Q900s, the company first Windows Phone device running Windows Phone 8.1 back in June. It is now on sale in India for Rs. 9,999. It weighs just just 100 grams, and Xolo claims that it is the world’s lightest Windows Phone smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch HD display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM 8212) processor with Adreno 302 GPU, a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Lava Iris 400Q, the latest budget smartphone in Lava Iris Q series is now available from Homeshop18. It has almost similar specifications as the Iris 406Q that was launched back in April, including a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera and dual SIM support, but this runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. Recently, it was reported that the Microsoft will preview the Windows 9 on September 30th. Now, the software and tech giant has accidentally teased the next iteration of Windows, announcing that it is coming soon.
Meizu has finally announced the MX4, the company’s latest flagship smartphone. It has a 5.36-inch (1920 x 1152 pixels) IPS display with 15: 9 aspect ratio and 2.6mm slim bezels on the sides. The display has 85% increase in NTSC color gamut, 1100:1 contrast ratio and a brightness of up to 600 nit. It is powered by a 2.1 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6595 processor and runs on Flyme OS 4.0.
