LG assures 3 Android OS updates for premium phones released in 2019 and later; 2 updates for select 2020 models

Earlier this week LG announced that it will exit the smartphone market by the end of July. At that time the company confirmed that it will provide service support and software updates for customers of existing mobile products for a period of time which will vary by region. Today it has confirmed 3 generations of Android OS updates for its premium models released in 2019 and later and 3 generations of OS updates for other models released in 2020. OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro OxygenOS 11.2.2.2 update brings camera and charging improvements

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones last month. The phones are getting a new OxygenOS 11.2.2.2 update that brings several camera improvements including better sharpness, noise and white balance for the rear camera, improved white balance for the front camera and more after feedback from the users. Get Android 11 on Redmi Note 7 Pro with OctaviOS

Recently Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 10 series smartphones running Android 11 with MIUI 12 skin on top. While, most of the Redmi Note series smartphones are yet to receive Android 11, it is almost confirmed that Redmi Note 7 series smartphones, launched in Feb 2019, will not be getting Android 11 update officially. So, if you still want to keep using your Redmi Note 7 Pro with the latest Android version, you will have to take things into your hands and try out a custom ROM.

OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro OxygenOS 11 Android 11 update starts rolling out [Update: OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro as well]

Update: OnePlus has also released OxygenOS 11 for the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 smartphones, and the changelog is the same.

After months of delays, OnePlus has finally started rolling out Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update for the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7T Pro smartphones. OxygenOS 11 beta had always on display feature, but the stable version doesn’t have it, but it might come in another update in the future. Some users are also reporting camera issues with the update, so it is not clear if the company will push another update to fix it. Nokia 3.2 Android 11 update starts rolling out

HMD Global has started rolling out Android 11 update for its Nokia 3.2, a month after it rolled out the update for the Nokia 8.3 5G. Android 11 brings lets managing conversations across multiple messaging apps all in one place and Nokia smartphones on Android 11 will reset the permissions of apps that haven’t been used in a while, allowing only recent apps access to personal data. OnePlus confirms OnePlus 9 series will run ColorOS only in China, will continue to use OxygenOS globally

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau earlier today posted on weibo confirming that OnePlus 9 series smartphones will run ColorOS 11 in China compared to HydrogenOS, which is a customized version of the OxygenOS that is present in the global version. OnePlus Nord Android 11 update resumes with OxygenOS 11.1.1.1 hotfix

OnePlus rolled out OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 to OnePlus Nord earlier this month. Last week the announced that the update has been temporarily paused since some users reported bugs after the update. As promised the company has rolled out a new OxygenOS 11.1.1.1 hotfix update to fix the bugs. Both the Android 10 users and the users who have updated to Android 11 already will get the update. LG announces Android 11 update timeline for VELVET 5G / 4G, G8X, G8S, WING and more

LG has released its timeline for upgrading its Android
11-ready portfolio to the latest Android OS as confirmed on the LG Denmark Site. The rollout is planned to commence in from April 2021 starting with LG VELVET 5G. Owners of the G8X will also be among the first to experience Android 11 in Q2, said the company. The VELVET 4G and G8S uses will have to wait till Q3 2021, while the WING, K52 and K42 users will have to wait till Q4 2021. Samsung has finally started rolling out One UI 3.1 Android 11 update for the Galaxy M51 smartphone in India after the One UI 3.0 for the M31 earlier this year, and the One UI 3.1 for S series and Note series phones.
