Android 12 stable update finally starts rolling out for Pixel phones


Google has finally pushed Android 12 stable update for the Pixel phones after pushing the source to AOSP project earlier this month. This comes after the final beta 5 was released last month. The latest Pixel 6 phones come with Android 12 pre-installed.

Android 12 features a new personalized look with ‘Material You’ including new widgets and notification design, privacy dashboard and security enhancements, scrolling screenshots, Nearby share (Wi-Fi credential sharing), and more.

Android 12 is now available for Pixel 3 and later through OTA update. If you are already on beta, you will a small update with the latest security patch for October since the beta 5 has all the features. You can get it from Android developer website here manually.

“Once you update and install this official release, any time you unenroll from the Beta your device will not get wiped if done before December 1st,” says Google, but you can continue in the beta program to get Android 12 pre-release updates including feature drops, bug fixes, and improvements to stability and performance ahead of the public release schedule starting in December.
