Xiaomi today announced that year-end No.1 Mi Fan Sale will happen from Wednesday, 19th December until Friday, 21st December offering discounts on smartphones, Mi LED TVs and more. It is being held on Mi.com, as well as its online partner platforms – Amazon.in and Flipkart.com depending on the prodcuts. Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5A last year running MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Last month it was updated to MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM which was based on Android 7.1 (Nougat) only but the company started rolling out Android 8.1 (Oreo) based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM towards the end of last month. Month after launching Mi Crowdfunding in India back in April with Selfie Stick Tripod and Bluetooth Audio Receiver, Xiaomi today started crowdfunding for its Polarized glasses – Mi Polarized Wayfarer and Mi Polarized Aviators in India. Both these promise 100% UV protection against UVA, UVB & UVC rays up to 400 nanometers.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6A, successor of last year’s Redmi 5A in India back in September starting at Rs. 5999. However, at the launch the company said that the pricing is complimentary and it will increase in a couple of months. It also increased the price of 16GB version by Rs. 600 and Rs. 500 for the 32GB version last month. Now the company has cut the price of the phone back at launch prices of Rs. 5999 and Rs. 6999. Xiaomi President Lin Bin has posted an image of a Xiaomi phone with 48-megapixel camera on weibo. This shows a large sensor along with dual LED flash. It also shows a new design and possibly a pop-up front camera offering an all-screen display like the Vivo NEX. He also shared that the phone will be released in January 2019. Update: We have managed to get the download link for the Mi A1 Android Pie beta update which is about 1.3GB in size. Since this is still in beta stage, there might be bugs. It is recommended to backup before updating. We have flashed it successfully with TWRP Recovery.

Xiaomi launched the second-generation Android One devices – Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite back in July at an event in Spain. At the event, Xiaomi and Google promised Android version updates along with monthly security patch updates as the device was launched under the Android One program.
