POCO F1 Review: Deal of the Century

If you’re in the market for a new smartphone, you’ve probably heard of the POCO F1 by now. An all new sub brand by Xiaomi, the POCO is aimed at giving you all out performance and all the other features you expect from a high end phone, at a very affordable price. Yes, we’ve heard that before. Heck the entire ‘Flagship Killer’ category stemmed from providing high end internals at a relatively low cost price. Now, before we do a deep down on the phone, let me just put it out there. The POCO F1 is possibly the best deal in smartphones right now and yet, it is not exactly a flagship and/or a  OnePlus 6 killer. Confused? Let us explain. Xiaomi Redmi 6 series smartphones will launch exclusively on Amazon India on September 5

Xiaomi already confirmed that it will launch three new smartphones in the Redmi 6 series in India on September 5th. Now Amazon.in has confirmed that the phones will be available exclusively with them. The teaser shows only two phones, one with a notch and the other without it, so the third phone could be exclusive to Flipkart.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Red Edition launched in India

Xiaomi has launched the Red color variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone in India, as expected. This joins the Black, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold variants of the smartphone that were launched in the country earlier this year. The Red version has Black finish on the front and Red finish on the back and the sides.

Xiaomi India today teased the launch of new Red version of its Redmi smartphone. The company introduced flame red variant of Redmi Note 5 (called Redmi note 5 Pro in India) back in June, so this could be it. The company currently sells Black, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold variants of the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India currently. Indian wearables shipments cross 1 million in Q2 2018, Xiaomi leads with 45.8% share: IDC

Xiaomi migrates Indian users’ data to local cloud infrastructure

Xiaomi today announced that it is migrating its Indian data to cloud service providers with infrastructure in India. This cover all Indian user data across Xiaomi e-commerce platform (mi.com/in), Mi Community (in.c.mi.com), Mi Cloud, MIUI (Xiaomi Market, feed, Mi Video, advertising, Mi Messaging, push notifications, etc) and Mi TV. Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 with bezel-less display, slide-out design to be announced in October

After the Honor event, in which the company announced the Magic 2 with a full-screen display with ultra narrow bezels and a slide-out design, Xiaomi Co-founder and President Lin Bin posted a photo of the smartphone and said that it will be introduced in October. This will likely be the Mi MIX 3, successor of the Mi Mix 2S, which was introduced  earlier this year.

Xiaomi Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi 6A launching in India on September 5

Xiaomi has posted a teaser confirming the launch of three new smartphones in the Redmi 6 series – Redmi 6Redmi 6A  and the Redmi 6 Pro. The company already confirmed that it will not launch the Mi A2 Lite in India, so it will be launching the Redmi 6 Pro instead. The event is set for September 5th.

POCO F1 first sale generated over Rs. 200 crore in less than 5 minutes

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched the F1, the company’s first smartphone in India last week, and has promised, it went on sale for the first time today at 12PM. Xiaomi Mi TV sales cross 500,000 units in India in over 6 months of launch

Xiaomi India today announced that it has sold more than 500,000 or 5 lakh units of Mi LED TVs in about six months of launch back in February. This includes Mi LED TV 4 55″, Mi LED TV 4A 32″ and Mi LED TV 4A 43″ sold across mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home stores. The company said that it has become one of the fastest growing smart TV brands in India

POCO Launcher (Beta) with app drawer for Xiaomi (MIUI) phones available for download [APK]

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched the POCO F1 running on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with a skin on top, which company is referring to as MIUI For POCO. MIUI for POCO is regular MIUI with few new additions like POCO launcher, stock Android like quick setting tiles and others. During the launch, the company mentioned that the POCO Launcher (Beta version) will be available on Play store starting August 29th but the launcher has been leaked within a few hours of launch event.
