Samsung begins rolling out Android 4.0 tablet updates

Post the Android 4.1 announcement at Google I/O a few days back, Samsung has finally begun the Android 4.0 update roll out to its tablet lineup. Starting off with the Galaxy Tab 7.7, the rest of the devices still stuck on Honeycomb should get the update shortly.

HTC doesn’t violate Apple patents says UK Judge

Judge Christopher Floyd from a UK court has ruled that HTC does not violate four patents as claimed by Apple. This includes the infamous slide to unlock claim. More interestingly, the judge says that three of the four patents are not valid.

Samsung Galaxy Chat with 3-inch display, QWERTY keyboard and Android 4.0 announced

Samsung has announced Galaxy Chat, their first mid-range phone running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 3.0-inch (240×320 pixels) QVGA touch screen display and a full QWERTY keyboard and is powered by a 850MHz processor. It has 2MP camera at the back and also lets you launch the camera or view your notifications directly from the lock screen. It has Samsung’s ChatON messenger and a dedicated key to access it. Apple prepping iPad Mini to combat the Nexus 7 says Bloomberg

To maintain its dominance in the tablet industry, Apple intends to release a smaller iPad dubbed the iPad Mini sometime later this year. According to sources with knowledge of the plans, Apple intends to compete with the newly launched Nexus 7 and Microsoft’s upcoming range of tablets.

Motorola Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx Android 4.0 update now rolling out in the US

Motorola has started rolling the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for Motorola Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx devices. The Android 4.0 images for Droid Razr leaked earlier this February and later it was shown off in official demo videos. The Motorola Razr has received Android 4.0 in Korea that also brings SMARTACTIONS and MOTOPRINT apps. BlackBerry 10 Roadmap for 2013 leaked

RIM announced at the earnings call last week that the first BlackBerry 10 would only be available in Q1 2013. The 2013 roadmap for BlackBerry 10 devices has surfaced in the leaked slides. This shows the list of devices and the their release time. The 4G PlayBook would be released in the last quarter of this year as RIM said. They have already confirmed that PlayBook would get BlackBerry OS 10 post launch, which is expected in Q1 or Q2 2013 according to the roadmap. The BlackBerry 10 devices that would be available starting in Q1 2013 that includes BlackBerry L and N-series smartphones and a 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook code named Blackforest for Q3 2013. LG Optimus 3D Max Unboxing

Here is the FoneArena unboxing of the LG Optimus 3D Max which has been launched in India recently . The Optimus 3D Max is a much improved version of the original Optimus 3D phone which was bulky. Samsung Galaxy Beam up for pre-order in India for Rs. 29900


Samsung Galaxy Beam is now on pre-order from the Samsung’s Official eStore. Samsung announced the Galaxy Beam, successor of their previous Beam at MWC 2012 in February. It was expected to be available in South West Asia including India in May, but it got delayed. It has a 4.0-inch 480×800 (WVGA) TFT display and is powered by 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor. It has 15 lumens pico projector that allows users to share photos, videos or other digital media instantly and in crisp clarity up to 50-inch wide. Nokia 808 PureView Review

Every once in a while a phone is released which showcases the best of technology possible at that time. Back in 2007, it was the Nokia N95 which showcased exactly how to build a mobile computer. The N95 truely was a revolutionary device packing everything but the kitchen sink under its plastic shell ! The very same year Apple announced the iPhone. It single handedly defined how to make a great and easily understood user interface and made Symbian look clunky and redundant overnight. Since then we’ve had various permutations and combinations of the formulae attempted to various degrees of success.

Fast forward to 2012 and we have another revolutionary device. The Nokia 808 PureView is hands down the best camera phone ever released. RIM announces $518 million net loss, 5000 job cuts as part of Q1 earnings

As part of the earnings call report, RIM CEO Thorsten Heins has just announced a net loss of $518 million. For the first quarter of the 2013 fiscal year , the company has brought in 33% lesser revenue from the previous quarter accounting for $2.8 billion.

Nokia launches Mail for Exchange for Asha 302 and Asha 303 devices

Nokia has launched the Mail for Exchange app in the OVI Store for Nokia Asha 302 and Asha 303 devices. It was released in the Nokia Beta Labs last month and received an update with UI enhancements, performance improvements and lots of bug fixes. This email app uses Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol and enables push email, calendar and contact data synchronization between compatible Microsoft Exchange email servers. Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet gets Android 4.0 OTA update in India

Lenovo ThinkPad tablet has received the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update in India. It is also available in United States, UK, Europe and other countries worldwide. Lenovo launched the ThinkPad Tablet in India last October and announced the ICS update for the tablet earlier this February. This update would offer improved browser with save it for later option and Voice input that would let you dictate text. There is no Face Unlock feature as they announced. LG A290 Triple SIM phone now available in India for Rs. 4100

LG A290, the company’s first Triple SIM phone that was announced earlier this February is now available in India. It has Triple Standby and has Hard Key to switch between SIM cards. It has 2.2-inch (176 x 220 pixels) 262K Colour TFT LCD display and has 1.3MP CMOS fixed focus camera with 4x digital zoom and Video Recording at 15 fps. HTC EVO 3D Android 4.0 update starts rolling out in India

HTC has announced on the their Facebook page that they have stared rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for EVO 3D in India. The HTC EVO 3D was launched in India last August at at hefty price tag of Rs.35,990 (MRP) and later got a price cut that brought the price down to Rs. 25,000. HTC announced the global Android 4.0 update schedule last month and started rolling out Android 4.0 update for Sensation XL India earlier this week.
