RIM wins lawsuit over BBM Trademark


Research in Motion (RIM) has won the law suit that lets them to continue using the BBM name for its BlackBerry Messenger service. Last December, BBM Canada, a broadcasting company filed a lawsuit against RIM to stop RIM from advertising the service using the shortened name. Samsung Galaxy S3 Price Comparison


Samsung launched the S3 in India yesterday at an MRP of Rs. 43,180, which seemed too costly. But in reality the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) is much higher than the MOP (Market Operating Price). The MOP for the Galaxy S3 is expected to be between Rs.37000 to Rs. 39000. Samsung releases Galaxy S3 source code


Samsung has released the kernel source code for the international version of the Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300), few days after launching the phone. It has released the source code even before the Galaxy S3 hits the customers worldwide. Samsung has announced Galaxy R Style (SHV- E170S/K/L), LTE-enabled Android smartphone in South Korea. It is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) along with Samsung TouchWiz UI. It has 4.3 inch SUPER AMOLED display and 5MP camera with LED Flash. Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 sales surpass 50 million globally


Samsung has announced that the combined sales (to channels and distributors) of Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 has crossed 50 million globally. Samsung Galaxy S that was launched in June 2010 sold 24 million units and the Samsung Galaxy S2 sales crossed 28 million units, 13 months after its debut. Samsung Galaxy Note that was launched last October topped 7 million units in just 7 months. It crossed the 5 million mark in March. Lenovo LePhone K800 Intel Medfield powered smartphone launched in China

Lenovo has launched LePhone K800 powered by 1.6GHz high-performance Intel Atom processor and 400MHz GPU in China. It was announced at CES 2012 earlier this year. It has 4.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD TFT LCD touch screen display, 8MP camera with 1080p HD video recording and Dual LED flash, 1.3MP front facing camera. Samsung Galaxy S3 with 2GB RAM, LTE, Snapdragon S4 processor coming to Canada on June 20


Samsung has officially announced that the Galaxy S3 would be available in Canada starting from 20th June. It has 4.8-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by Snapdragon S4 Dual Core 1.5 GHz instead of Exynos 4 Quad. It would come in 2 versions, SGH-i747 with LTE support and SGH-iT999 with HSPA+ 42 support. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with TouchWiz with Motion UX. Microsoft launches Photosynth panorama app for Windows Phone

Microsoft has launched the Photosynth app for Windows Phone devices. The Photosynth app lets you capture and share interactive panoramas in a full sphere, 360 degrees horizontally and vertically. It uses core stitching and blending algorithms developed by Microsoft Research. The app was launched for iPhone last April. Samsung has launched the Galaxy S III in India. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S III earlier this month at an Event in London and the pre-booking started in India on Samsung eStore couple of weeks back. The Galaxy S III packs in 4.8 inch (720 x 1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz Quad-Core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
