Motorola Droid Razr M with 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display, 4G LTE coming to Verizon on September 13 for $99.99

Motorola has announced Droid Razr M for Verizon Wireless. It has a edge-to-edge 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) Super AMOLED Advanced display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich that is upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean by end of 2012. It comes with an 8MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD recording and a VGA front-facing camera with 720p HD video video recording. It has DuPont Kevlar fiber at the back and supports 4G LTE networks. Samsung Galaxy S III sales hit 20 million units

Samsung has just issued a press release saying that sales of the Galaxy S III have surpassed 20 million units. The South Korean handset maker managed to hit this goal in just 100 days. They say that’s 6x faster than the original Galaxy S, and 3x faster than the Galaxy S II. The company even breaks things down by territory: 6 million units in Europe, 4.5 million in Asia, 4 million in North America, and finally 2.5 million in the country that they call home. Nokia Lumia 920 hands on preview

Nokia announced the Lumia 920 and 820 as the newest members of its Lumia range of devices. Running on Windows Phone 8, we got a chance to get a feel for the hardware. Nokia Lumia 920 with Windows Phone 8, 4.5-inch Pure Motion HD+ display, PureView camera announced

 

Nokia has finally announced their first Windows Phone 8 device, the Lumia 920. It has a 4.5-inch (1280 × 768 pixels) Pure Motion HD+ IPS display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It comes with an 8.7 MP auto focus camera with LED Flash optical imaging stabilization and Carl Zeiss optics Full 1080p HD video capture at 30fps and Nokia PureView camera technology, a 1.2MP 720p HD front-facing camera for video calling and Wireless charging capabilities based on the popular Qi wireless standard. Samsung Galaxy Note II gets priced in UK, coming in mid-October

Samsung Galaxy Note II has received a price tag in UK for the 16GB vesion. UK retailer Clove has announced that the Galaxy Note II would be available by mid-October. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note II at IFA last week. It packs in a 5.5-inch (1,280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display, 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Samsung Galaxy S Duos and Galaxy Y Duos Lite launched in India for Rs. 17900 and Rs. 6990

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite, Dual SIM phones in India. The Galaxy S Duos was announced last month and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite would launch in some European countries as Galaxy Pocket Duos. The Galaxy S Duos comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA (480×800) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The Galaxy Y Duos Lite comes with similar features as the Galaxy Pocket, other than the Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support. It has a 2.8-inch (240 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is powered by a 832MHz processor and has a 2MP fixed focus camera at the back.

LG Optimus Vu coming to Verizon as LG Intuition on September 6 for $199.99

LG has released the Optimus Vu for Verizon Wireless in the USA as Intuition. It would have similar features as the Korean version including a 5-inch display with 4:3 Aspect Ratio and 650 nits brightness, 1.5 GHz Dual Core Snapdragon Processor, 4G LTE support, but would come with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on-board. Google Maps for Android gets Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic in India

Google has started rolling out 2 new features, Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic updates for the Google Maps for Android in India. The Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation would be helpful while driving or walking. You can click the navigate button after you request for a destination. You can also turn the voice navigation off or select alternative routes. This feature was introduced back in 2009. Photos of iPhone 5 Battery in Rear Shell, Compared to iPhone 4S Battery

The battery for the next-generation iPhone has leaked many times in the past recent week. Today, repair firm iResQ has obtained batteries of the new iPhone and has posted new photos showing the iPhone’s rear shell and comparing the battery to an iPhone 4S battery.

The new iPhone’s battery runs at 3.8 volts. It is possible that the new iPhone’s battery is using new chemistry to increase the capacity to 5.45 watt-hours from the 3.7-volt 5.30 watt-hour battery used in the iPhone 4S. The comparison photos show that the new battery is slightly taller than the iPhone 4S. Thickness of the battery appears to be the same despite the fact that the new iPhone is rumored to be at least 15% thinner than the iPhone 4S.

Key differences between the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S battery:

1. The iPhone 5’s battery is slightly less than a half an inch taller than the iPhone 4S. The thickness appears to be identical.

2. The iPhone 5 is 3.8V/5.45Whr while the iPhone 4S is 3.7V/5.3Whr.

3. The connector on the iPhone 5 is not only different, it is placed on the opposite side of the battery to accomodiate its new position within the iPhone.

Apple is expected to introduce the new iPhone at next week’s media event, which was officially announced today.

Apple Announces Media Event for September 12th

Today, The Loop reports that Apple has sent out media invites to the press for an event next Wednesday, September 12th. Apple is expected to reveal the next-generation iPhone at this event.

The tagline on the invitations read “It’s almost here,” with a large number 12. Also, below the date of the event, there is a shadow that displays a number “5”. This would suggest that Apple will call the next-generation iPhone “iPhone 5”.

The event will be held next Wednesday at 10 AM Pacific/ 1 PM Eastern at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts in San Francisco, California.
