Samsung Galaxy S Duos and Galaxy Y Duos Lite launched in India for Rs. 17900 and Rs. 6990


Samsung has launched the Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite, Dual SIM phones in India. The Galaxy S Duos was announced last month and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite would launch in some European countries as Galaxy Pocket Duos. The Galaxy S Duos comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA (480×800) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The Galaxy Y Duos Lite comes with similar features as the Galaxy Pocket, other than the Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support. It has a 2.8-inch (240 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is powered by a 832MHz processor and has a 2MP fixed focus camera at the back.

Both these phones have Dual SIM ‘Always On’ feature similar to the Galaxy Ace Duos, that automatically forwards calls from the phone number on SIM 2, even if a user is on a call with SIM 1’s number.

The Galaxy S Duos has a 5MP Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash and 720p video recording and a VGA secondary camera. Other features include, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB with microSD.


The Galaxy Y Duos Lite has 3GB of internal memory, expandable memory up to 32GB with microSD. Both these phones have 3.5mm audio jack and FM radio with RDS, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v 3.0 and aGPS. The Galaxy S Duos come with a 1500 mAh battery while the Y Duos lite has a 1200 mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite are priced at Rs. 17,900 and Rs. 6,990 respectively. The Galaxy Y Duos Lite would come with 1GB of 3G or Unlimited 2G data free per month for 6 months for Reliance customers.
