ZTE has announced two new smartphones, the nubia 5 and the Grand S for the U.S. markets. Both these phones have a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD IPS display at 440 ppi, powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) processor and run on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). ZTE unveiled the Grand S earlier this year at the CES 2013. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has dual SIM cars slots with 3G support, voice calling and SMS.  It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. LG G Flex smartphone with 6-inch Curved OLED display reportedly coming in November

LG Electronics  plans to launch a smartphone with a curved screen next month, according to a recent report from the Wall Street Journal. CNET reported yesterday that new LG with a concave curved display will be revealed later this month and will be called the LG Z or Z1. We don’t have any solid leaks or a image of the prototype yet, but WSJ has posted a prototype sketch of the device that shows how much the device will bend. Samsung is also rumored to introduce the Galaxy Note 3 Active with curved display later this month. Coke Studio @MTV app released for Windows Phone and Windows 8

The hugely popular Coke Studio show that airs on MTV India has got its app on the Windows Phone and Windows 8 platforms. With the recent push of local apps on the Windows platform, it isn’t a surprise to see another cool entrant from the Indian pop culture scene. The app is free and available for download on the Windows Phone Store for WP8 devices and on Windows Store for all Windows 8 and RT devices. The show, running in its 3rd season, got big names like Rahman and Ram Sampath for the latest one, which created excellent songs and garnered some insane attention. The app will let you download audio as well as video from inside, and is powered by the Microsoft Azure cloud technology.

Swipe Telecom has launched Swipe Junior, the company’s first tablet for Kids. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) 5-point multi-touch display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The tablet comes with parental lock that lets parents restrict or block internet usage,  restrict apps that can be accessed by children using Application Manager and a timer to set the amount of time each day that their child can use the tablet. Dell Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets with dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor and Android 4.2 announced

Dell has introduced two new tablets powered by a 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ processor. The Venue 7 has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and the Venue 8 has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels). Both these tablets run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and packs 2 GB of RAM. The Venue 7 has a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The Venue 8 has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing HD camera. Both these tablets come with 4100 mAh battery and has optional 3G support apart from the usual connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth and Micro USB. The 7-inch Venue 7 would compete with the NVIDIA Tegra Note that was unveiled recently. Now the LinkedIn and Pulse apps have finally been updated with a new flatter, cleaner and more modern UI for iOS 7. LinkedIn acquired Pulse, a news reader app back in April, and this is the first major update after the acquisition. The new LinkedIn app for BlackBerry v10.1.5 brings improved and unified search, specialized content catered to your interests, better sharing and a simpler design. LG, Samsung All Set to Launch Curved Display Phones Later This Month

We’ve been hearing about flexible displays for quite a few years now but the technology was always a bit too far ahead of the curve. However, it looks like we’ll finally be seeing commercial applications of curved edge displays in smartphones. We have already brought to you a demo of LG’s curved edge television which indicates how the South Korean company has the technology in place to mass produce such panels.  ZD Net earlier reported that a new LG with a concave curved display will be revealed later this month and will be called the LG Z or Z1.

Micromax Canvas Tab P650 Benchmarks

Micromax launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series last month. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It has a 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels)  4:3 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8389 Cortex A7 processor with PowerVR SGX544 MP2 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). The Xolo tab that was also released last month had a similar 8-inch display, but it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 200 (MSM8225Q) processor. We don’t have the Xolo Tab yet to compare it with the Canvas Tab, let’s find out how it performs with other Android tablets in various synthetic benchmark tests.
