Sony has announced new 8MP and 13MP CMOS image sensors for smartphones, tablets, and other devices. These are back-illuminated stacked CMOS image sensors that would offer faster signal processing and lower power consumption. This camera would feature Sony’s unique RGBW Coding function that has low noise and high picture quality in the captured images even in low-light conditions. The Sony’s HDR (High Dynamic Range) Movie function in the 13MP camera would offer brilliant color to be captured even in bright conditions. AT&T has just announced the Xperia Ion at its CES keynote event. The Android smartphone sports a 4.6″ HD 720p display. The camera is a 12MP unit equipped with Sony’s proprietary Exmor R technology for better low light capabilities. 16GB of inbuilt storage will be available on the LTE equipped device.

Yes, you read the title right. The phone is indeed called Sony XPERIA LT22 ( codenamed Nyphon). The phone in the leaked picture above might be the first re-branded XPERIA phone.
Sony India has revealed the price of it’s Android Honeycomb tablet the Tablet S on it’s website. As of now only the 16GB WiFi version seems to be on sale and there is no mention of the 3G version. The Sony Tablet S is already available in select Sony stores across the country. The MRP for this 9.4 inch Android tablet is Rs.29,990 according to the site. The device is powered by a Nvidia Tegra2 1 GHz processor along with 1 GB of RAM. Sony claims you can control your home devices using the Sony Tablet S as a universal remote. At the AsiaD conference , SCE Chariman Kazuo Hirai said that the company is in talks with other Android phone manufacturers to support the Playstation Suite.
The video streaming platform has been on the tablets for some time now, but now Sony wants a simple music streaming app which can run on any of the Android tablets, which will also provide access to the cloud based music unlimited network. it will be attainable via download , an app for any Android tablet junkie to freak out on, though this app will be hitting on Sony Ericsson’s Tablet S first.
