Sony announces 8MP and 13MP CMOS smartphone image sensors

Sony has announced new 8MP and 13MP CMOS image sensors for smartphones, tablets, and other devices. These are back-illuminated stacked CMOS image sensors that would offer faster signal processing and lower power consumption. This camera would feature Sony’s unique RGBW Coding function that has low noise and high picture quality in the captured images even in low-light conditions. The Sony’s HDR (High Dynamic Range) Movie function in the 13MP camera would offer brilliant color to be captured even in bright conditions. Sony Xperia S announced, 4.3-inch HD display, 12MP camera and 1.5GHz dual-core processor

Sony Xperia S is the first smartphone under the Sony brand in the Xperia NXT next generation series announced at CES. It comes with 4.3 inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, 12MP camera with LED flash that can take shots in just 1.5 seconds directly from standby mode. It is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor and runs on  Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) that is upgradable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in Q2 2012. Sony Xperia Ion announced at CES , Coming to AT&T

AT&T has just announced the Xperia Ion at its CES keynote event. The Android smartphone sports a 4.6″ HD 720p display. The camera is a 12MP unit equipped with Sony’s proprietary Exmor R technology for better low light capabilities. 16GB of inbuilt storage will be available on the LTE equipped device.

Sony Ericsson MT27i ‘Pepper’ spotted in the wild

Right on the heels of the SE Nozomi leak comes the Sony Ericsson MT27i also called the Pepper. The handset appears to be the successor the Sony Ericsson Neo. The design seems to follow a two tone color scheme featuring black and white body panels.

Sony Tablet S WiFi Version gets Priced in India

Sony India has revealed the price of it’s Android Honeycomb tablet the Tablet S on it’s website. As of now only the 16GB WiFi version seems to be on sale and there is no mention of the 3G version. The Sony Tablet S is already available in select Sony stores across the country. The MRP for this 9.4 inch Android tablet is Rs.29,990 according to the site. The device is powered by a Nvidia Tegra2 1 GHz processor along with 1 GB of RAM. Sony claims you can control your home devices using the Sony Tablet S as a universal remote. [Breaking] Sony buys out Ericsson’s 50% share in Sony Ericsson

We’re still waiting for more information regarding this but Reuters reports that Sony has bought out Ericsson’s 50% share in the Sony Ericsson joint venture. Sony Ericsson has recently completed 10 years of the JV and started off making feature phones and the iconic Walkman , Cybershot series of devices.

Sony Ericsson launching smartphone with 3D display?

Sony Ericsson is one of the famous mobile phone companies in the world and they are offering a lot of good handsets, and most of their smartphones are Android powered. Sony Ericsson Duo specs and press shot leaked, launch in September?

In past few months, Sony Ericsson launched some amazing looking devices and Xperia Arc is worth mentioning. Xperia Arc is not the best Android device available but personally I think it’s one of the most beautiful looking devices.
