Samsung Israel has confirmed on their Facebook page that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update would be available on March 15th. This update would be available for unlocked and carrier-branded handsets in Israel. Samsung confirmed the ICS update for Galaxy S2 last November. They announced last December that the Galaxy devices would receive the Android 4.0 update in Q1 2012. The 4.3-inch Android phone with super AMOLED Plus display was launched in Korea last April and later launched in other Asian and European countries Worldwide. 1 million units of Galaxy S2 were sold in Korea in the first 30 days. Bloomberg: Samsung Smartphone sales may have surpassed Apple and Nokia
Samsung may have surpassed the sales of the Apple and Nokia smartphones in the second quarter of 2011 reports Bloomberg. Samsung is estimated to have sold between 18 million and 21 million smartphones globally in the April-June quarter, while Nokia sold 16.7 million and Apple sold 20.3 million iPhones. The count down begins, with just weeks away from the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Mobile releases a new ad of the phone. Looks like Samsung has begun an ad campaign, for its new upcoming phone. The first ad has been boasting of the phone’s Super AMOLED display, and this time its about the Voice Command functionality. The Voice Talk can be activated by pressing the Home button twice or by just double tapping on the top phone, which lets you convert voice into text and also lets you control the phone with the help of voice commands.
