on October 28, 2011 – 9:38 pm5 Comments

Samsung Italy has reportedly mentioned which of their devices will be getting an upgrade to the latest version of Google’s Android OS – Ice Cream Sandwich.

The models confirmed to receive an update are:

  • Galaxy S II
  • Galaxy Note
  • Galaxy Tab 10.1
  • Galaxy Tab 8.9
  • Galaxy Tab 7.7
  • Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus

They also mentioned that we shouldn’t expect an upgrade anytime soon. The earliest possible date for the upgrade would be Q2 2012. However we haven’t received confirmation as to whether these dates are only for the Italian region or for all the regions.

Q2/2012 for an upgrade makes sense. At MWC they will show their new flagship(s) preloaded with ICS. So first sell these new devices preloaded with ICS, than upgade the old one ones to ICS. Same business as usual.
