OnePlus One went up for pre-order on October 27th, however a number of users experienced problems at the time of ordering the much awaited device. The Chinese company’s site experienced a massive hit in traffic, causing it to be nearly impossible for customers to process an order.

OnePlus has announced that it has released a major OTA update for its OnePlus One smartphone. Dubbed as CM 11S 38R, the update fixes the touch screen issues and brings few enhancements.
In a recent AMA (ask me anything) session on Reddit, OnePlus said that it would introduce pre-order system in October. Even though OnePlus has ramped up the production, getting an invite to order the phone is one of the main concerns. FoneArena and OnePlus teamed up to do something, which fans love the most – a meetup! The fun event was scheduled on September 4 in Bangalore and more than 30 OnePlus and FoneArena enthusiasts turned up even though it was a weekday.
We had Carl Pei, Ruston McLean and Andy Zhang from the OnePlus Global team along with FoneArena crew.
The fan meet up got rolling at 5PM with Varun Krishnan and Carl Pei’s introductory note. Ruston, who leads the business development at OnePlus also thanked all the fans for taking some time out on a busy weekday.
As promised, the OnePlus and the FoneArena team were ready with some goodies to giveaway. There was two OnePlus One units up for grab as well and the team decided to run a raffle to pick the lucky fans.
There was a lot of buzz with lot of tech talk and the environment was electrifying. All the fans had a chance to interact with the OnePlus and the FoneArena team. Taking selfies with Carl and Varun Krishnan was a common sight. We had some delicious food on offer as well.
After a lot of interaction and fun activities, the moment of luck finally arrived – 2 OnePlus One 64GB Standstone Black units were at one’s disposal.
There were two lucky winners – Vinu Thomas and Mohameed Vaseem left the venue with smiling faces. We wrapped up by thanking all our fans for being there and we made sure that everybody had something to win.

OnePlus One that runs on CyanogenMod 11S is already based on AOSP version of Android 4.4 (KitKat). Today OncePlus has released its own version of stock Android version 4.4.4 based on AOSP for those who prefer pure Android without any CyanogenMod customizations and features such as CM Account. China’s Xiaomi might be in the forefront these days, but compatriot OnePlus is making sure there’s still some thunder left for them. After Xiaomi launched their Mi4 smartphone two days back, OnePlus hit back in their own style.
OnePlus One continues to maintain the hype that it managed to create during MWC 2014 and the phone is all set to be unveiled completely on April 23, 2014. With less than a week to go, leaks are common and this time we have a leaked photo showcasing the Swappable back covers.
OnePlus has taken a different approach in introducing the phone to the world as it has announced a feature every week and the swappable back covers was one of its features, but they hadn’t showcased the back of the device then. But now, the back covers have leaked in full glory in what is rumored to be the press render.
The Image was a older one, but now they have upgraded the processor to Snapdragon 801.

OnePlus One is an upcoming smartphone from a Chinese manufacturer OnePlus. Most of the OnePlus folks are from Oppo and since they are from one of the globally recognized Chinese smartphone manufacturers, a lot of people from the tech community are expecting the OnePlus One smartphone to make a splash.
OnePlus is a new company from China with executives from Oppo and they claim to be working on the “perfect” smartphone. Instead of revealing the smartphone first, OnePlus has been slowly, but steadily building hype around their product – OnePlus One. OnePlus One is supposed to be the perfect smartphone that they are building and they have tied up with CyanogenMod Inc to provide the OS for them.
Pete Lau, the distinguished engineer from Oppo, had announced earlier that he left the company to pursue something new. It was known that it involved CyanogenMod and its CTO Steve Kondik, but now we know what exactly they are upto. Pete Lau is now the CEO of a new hardware start up called OnePlus, and unsurprisingly, its software partner will be Cyanogen Inc. which will power its phones, starting with the flagship “OnePlus One”. No, we are not making that up.
