Report: AT&T to be exclusive carrier for Amazon smartphone

Amazon is scheduled to host an event on 18th June where it is expected to reveal its upcoming smartphone. The device will distinguish itself from the competition through the use of a special 3D interface that will make use of retina tracking technology.

The technology will allow users to navigate the interface through the use of four cameras embedded along the corners of the phone. This will allow for a glasses free experience. The device will be revealed at the company’s event in Seattle later this week. Amazon is already courting developers to adopt and make applications for the unique interface used on the smartphone. While little is known of the specifications of the device, the handset will be neck deep in the Amazon ecosystem and will most likely be sold at or near cost similar to the company’s tablet offerings. Nokia Lumia 1020 Unboxing, AT&T Unlocked Version

The Nokia Lumia 1020 just arrived at FoneArena today and guess what, we managed to get hold of a unlocked unit from a US retailer.  The device is currently exclusive sold only on AT&T in USA and Nokia is yet to launch the SIM-free/unlocked version in USA or any other market but how can you get one ? Read on to find out. This is indeed the Lumia 1020 for AT&T with the carrier branding but the good thing is it can accept any GSM SIM card, be it T-Mobile, Airtel or Vodafone. This supports LTE on AT&T but would work over 3G, HSPA in many countries including India. The device has evolved from the 808 PureView which was running on Symbian and subsequently the Lumia 920 which was one of the first Windows phones with a PureView camera. Today we have a combination of the best of the imaging from the 808 and 920, improved leaps and bounds, and delivered in the form of the Lumia 1020. AT&T Denies Rumor of Company-Wide Vacation Blackout at End of September

YesterdayTechCrunch reported that AT&T had issued a vacation blackout between September 21-30. Reports suggested that the blackout dates were likely due to the new iPhone. Garnet Red Samsung Galaxy S3 for AT&T – Official Photos

AT&T has announced the pre-order for the Garnet Red variant of the Samsung Galaxy S3 which is exclusive to AT&T. Customers can pre-order this device through the operators website and in the company’s retail stores starting from July 15. In-store availability is set for July 29th.  We have already seen the White Galaxy S3 and the Pebble Blue S3 and this is the first glimpse at the red one. There a couple of photos after the jump.

HTC : Tablet line up will not be updated to Android 4.0

HTC has updated its upgrade path FAQ page to announce that none of the tablets in its line up will be getting the awaited Android 4.0 update. This includes the Flyer , HTC EVO View 4G for Sprint and the Jetstream on AT&T.

Samsung Rugby Smart rugged Android smartphone coming to AT&T on March 4 for $99.99

Samsung has announced Samsung Rugby Smart, waterproof (up to 1m for 30 minutes) and dustproof Android smartphone for AT&T. It has 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen display and a 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording and 1.3 MP front facing camera. AT&T Galaxy Note now available for Pre-Order at BestBuy

Everyone is familiar with Samsung Galaxy Note, one of Samsung’s best devices to date. It’s a tablet/smartphone hybrid and it’s available in all the major countries, and soon it will be launched in USA via AT&T. Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T packs 4.3 inch display, 1830 mAh battery, LTE and Front-facing camera

Nokia and AT&T today announced the Lumia 900 which supports AT&T’s 4G LTE network. The device looks very similar to the Lumia 800 but packs a bigger screen and battery. It packs a 4.3 AMOLED CBD display and a 1830 mAh battery.There is a 8MP camera on the back with Carl Zeiss optics and there is also the front-facing camera which was missing in the 800.We are not sure if this device will be coming to other countries but Nokia is betting big on the Lumia 900 and trying to re-enter America which is one of the most competitive mobile markets in the world today.
