No more Bada phones, Samsung to increase focus on Android, Windows Phone 8

SamMobile reports that Samsung will not be launching any new Bada phones in the second half of 2012. The popular manufacturer intends to focus more on Windows Phone 8 alongside its staple Android devices. Bada Phones were last shown by the Korean manufacturer at IFA 2011 in Berlin.

Micromax A100 Android smartphone with 5-inch screen listed online for Rs. 9,999

Rumors have been going around for a while that Micromax is all set to launch its Galaxy Note phablet competitor. While we still don’t have an official reveal, Listings have gone up at popular online shopping portal HomeShop 18 where the A100 is said to be currently out of stock. From what we know, the smartphone will run on Android 4.0 ICS and is equipped with 512MB of RAM.

Zync Z-909 plus launched at Rs. 3,699

Zync recently announced its low cost tablet, the Z-909 plus. Coming in at just around Rs. 3700, it is one of the cheapest tablets in the market right now. The 7″ tablet is powered by a 1Ghz processor coupled with 256MB of RAM. Unfortunately the WVGA touchscreen is resistive in nature. WiFi connectivity is present and a 0.3 MP camera can be found up front.

Radio streaming comes to Spotify for Android

Back in June, Spotify added a radio feature to its iOS app for premium subscribers. The Swedish company has now done the same for Android users. The feature which works in a way quite similar to Pandora radio, allows premium subscribers to listen to an unlimited number of stations and songs.

Casio introduces four new Android tablets in Japan

Casio has introduced its latest tablets aimed at business users in the Japanese market. All four tablets have a 10.1″ 1,280×800 multi-touch LED display. The Paper Writer V-N500-WJ and Paper Writer V-N500-J come with a stylus and have handwriting recognition capabilities which also let it convert handwritten text to digital.

Android 4.1 update being pushed out to Motorola Xoom WiFi tablets

Droid-Life reports that the WiFi version of the Motorola Xoom tablet has now started receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the US. The update has now begun gradually rolling out to users though currently it is restricted to only those using the WiFi edition of the tablet. HTC just confirmed that a majority of its recent smartphones will get upgraded to Android Jelly Bean. The handsets mentioned include the HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S. This is great news for owners of HTC devices seeing that almost no other manufacturer has committed to an upgrade path for their phones.
