No more Bada phones, Samsung to increase focus on Android, Windows Phone 8

SamMobile reports that Samsung will not be launching any new Bada phones in the second half of 2012. The popular manufacturer intends to focus more on Windows Phone 8 alongside its staple Android devices. Bada Phones were last shown by the Korean manufacturer at IFA 2011 in Berlin.

Samsung intends to further increase its Android device marketshare on the back of devices like the next Galaxy Nexus. In addition, it is taking a serious look at Windows Phone 8. Localytics reports that Nokia’s market share of Windows Phone devices has increased to 59% and Samsung would definitely want a larger slice of the pie.  Not only Bada but even Tizen devices have been pushed to 2013. Samsung had previously distributed a limited number of Tizen devices to developers who have since reported issues with missing tools and software upgrades.
